Westbrook is a risk to leave OKC and sign elsewhere, and a rookie contract deal would be valuable to OKC who could then theoretically sign someone to play with Durant, along with that top 3 pick and Ibaka.

Add in Westbrook's knees and craziness, and I think a guy like Presti could be tempted by a breakout strategy such as this, if he thinks he can get Durant on board with it.

Likely no, but it's not discussed at all and I think it's ... a possibility.

Now with ALL that said, our pick and a lot of cap room for Westbrook with Melo and whoever else we can sign? I'd pass lol.

You do realize that Durant may not sign in 2016 right? :D

To be fair, KnicksGod did say "if Presti can get Durant on board with it". But that's just KnicksGod's way of giving something that has ZERO chance of happening, an out to fantasize about the made up possibilities.

my dream lineup

Knicks trade Calderon and 3 mil cash to Mini for a 2nd rounder

Knicks trade #1 overall pick to Phili for #4 and #6

Knicks trade THjr to Denver for their first round pick, # 18

Knicks draft Muiday/Russell at 4, Cauley-Stein at 6, Christmas or Kaminsky at 18 or BPA

With 30mil in cap space we offer both Marc Gasol and LMA 15mil 1 yr deals so they can resign with the exploding cap

of course they agree because this is my deem lineup

Russell/Mudiay
Galloway
Melo
LMA
Gasol

This would be my dream also but I would actually not bother drafting Cauley-Stein and hope one of Muiday/Russel drop to 6. Imagine a young dynamic backcourt with three veteran fowards 0.o

those guys won't drop past 4, everyone after Muiday/Russell is a potentially much less impactful player

Cauley-Stien might go 5 but I think Johnson or Porzingas will

at 18 Christmas might be redundant to Cauey-Stein so you can draft a guard there too like Booker or whatever

ahhh dreams

Galloway
Wes Matthews
Melo
LMA
Karl Anthony Towns

OR

Mudiay
Wes Matthews
Melo
Paul Milsap
Marc Gasol

OR

Galloway
Jimmy Butler
Melo
Towns
Gasol

Okafor reminds me of Al jefferson in which case i'd rather spend the money on LMA to dominate for the next 5 years offensively. To me, Towns represents what I think we could use more of which is an Andrew Bynum type of player. Bynum and Gasol played very well together on the Lakers and I think the combo of Towns and LMA or Gasol can be just as good as that pairing.

Then why have him listed as one in all of the lineups? He will not be a SG in the NBA.

Because it seems like he's trying to develop into one. Thanasis has slightly improved his shooting. He's been taking a lot of mid rang and 3's. His shooting form and release are improving as well. He also improved his passing and ball handling. Knicks will most likely be full at the small forward position and since he's a good defender he can give a lot of shooting guards problems. I think Thanasis is similar to Jimmy Butler and I'm hoping he improves his game in the off season just like jimmy did

if we get the 1st pick and min the 3rd -> three team trade:

Min gets 1st pick, calderon (now they have their second future franchise player)
NY gets 3rd pick, Taj Gibson
Chi gets future first from Min (money savings, they have to pay butler now and noah next year with mirotic upcoming as their 3rd big)

Russell (3,8 mil)
Danny Green (8 mil)
Carmelo
Taj Gibson (8,5 mil)
Marc Gasol (18 mil)

with the cap between 66-68 mil, this should work.
damn, i love this lineup... you have a second star, two defensive first glue guys, a future star, lot of shooting... thoughts?

I know it's a dream line up but The pg like Russell and Mundial need the ball a lot to be productIve . They have to be the man to shine and will not work with Melo and the new FAs. Gasols team will give him the max so why will he come to New york?, Bulls are not going to pay Tag Gibson so I think we can get him for cheap. The main priority is 1. Perimeter defence 2, Rebounding, post up play and rim protector 3 Pg who can play defence first and shoot the open jumper. If we drat Okafor we take care of 2 Russell and Mundial are not all that in defence. We need that against, wall, Rose, Lowry, Goran and Kyrie. We focus on Mathews or Afflalo to take care of point number 1 and we either buy a late 1st round pick or even second rd or even Euro player to take care if point number 3. But we also get MO Williams or Miller to Mentor the guards and for the locker room ala Kidd or Builips. My 2 cents

C
DeAndre Jordan, Cole Aldrich
PF
Jahlil Okafor, Jason Smith
SF
Carmelo Anthony, Lou Amunson
SG
Wesley Matthews, Tim Hardaway Jr.
PG
Langston Galloway, Shane Larkin (trade Jose Calderon to upgrade this position)

This would be a lot easier if we already knew who we were drafting.

Return to New York Knicks
