yes plenty worse. The Layden years with Houstons contract, weatherspoon, shandon anderson, howard eisley, othella harrington was much worse.

than the IT and Larry Brown days of Marbury, Francis, Malik Rose, Curry. Were much worse.

We have picks and young player to build around and outside of Calderon I don't think we have an unmovable piece. It just sucks right now because Melo looks really banged up and our guard situation is concerning to say the least.

I'm taking about tension. I'll concede towards the end of Larry Brown... But that's about it. This is terrible. Fans expected Phil to really turn it around and quick. Coach fired one year after he was given 25 million to coach. And no injuries.

Oh it's never been this bad from a fan contentiousness standpoint. Not during Layden's tenure, not even during Isiah's tenure. Never. Ever. Even last season with the franchise worse the front office "mantra" (vibe, whatever) was basically "wait for next season, this season was just a reset". Well...next season happened and honestly, considering the upgrade in talent, they are actually doing even worse than last years franchise worst team. At least last years team competed and tried.

One in next year's draft and one the year after giving the Knicks 3 lottery picks to add to Porzingis and Grant???

That's actually a really good plan. 2 top draft picks in that 2017 draft would be ridiculous

He shouldn't be the fall guy. The team sucks and he's been doing his best to improve. His teammates should be the fall guys. Outside of KP and Rolo the rest of this team is complete garbage. That's sugar coating it too....

Pretty much. Unless we expect Anthony to be Lebron, it's unrealistic to expect him to be able to lift this team by himself to anything. The front office has been utterly unable to find any real talent to surround Anthony with since he got here. The same thing happened during Marbury's tenure. Similar things (though obviously not as bad) happened during Ewing's tenure before that. The last time the Knicks had more than one "star" player on the team was in 1973 (that's 43 years ago) when they had Frazier and Reed (and they won a championship). You can't win anything in the NBA with just one star surrounded by a bunch of role players and/or has been stars.

What difference does that make? Melo is a true New Yorker and a true Knick. He bleeds blue n orange. He doesn't care about a rebuild. He's here till the end.

Yeah, if Phil gets fired, then who is going to take his place? Phil can still make some major strides this offseason

It'll be Mills

Phil all day over Mills

Let's relax by saying this is worse than the Isiah era...

Isiah era was the grimmest in franchise history because it looked like it would never end. We had no talent, no draft picks, no young players, and a sexually-harassing GM/coach with a 'superstar' who ate Vaseline.

Isiah was allowed free reign and it really never looked like it would ever end. The fact that he is still around in some capacity tells you how bad it was. The commissioner of the NBA had to step in and basically force Dolan to hire Donnie Walsh.

The entire 07-08 season was dedicated to 'Fire Isiah' chants, with the Knicks trying their best to drown them out with loud music and kicking fans out of the arena. Shameful stuff by Dolan.

This is worse. The Jackson era has already resulted in the worst record in franchise history and there's never been this much negativity and doom and gloom in the garden and fans there...ever.

Worse? Not even close. We never had anyone the caliber of Porzingis since Ewing. So this is far from worse.

Phil should sign Lawson *and* K Martin and promise them 38 minutes a piece in the back court the rest of the way.

Our guards are TERRIBLE. Those two have a little ball left in 'em. They both want some redemption and a new contract next season, I'm sure.

We have exactly 4 players signed beyond next season and two of them are on rookie contracts. If Melo hasn't realized a full re-build is already underway, then it's his fault. If he didn't think we would be experiencing some significant growing pains, then also shame on him (and us) for having unrealistic expectations.

Yes, this is worse. You can create videos about anything to make it seem like it's worse. I'm sure someone will be coming up with a Phil Jackson tribute soon.
