They probably wanted a PG for Kneelikina to go up against in practices this year who had an actual pulse

That's why Dallas has 6 of them?

Am not sure people actually watch Smith play. He can dunk though and is athletic, so maybe that's why people fawn over him. Preseason so far he's at 40% shooting, 3 apg, 10 shots per game in just 18 mpg, with barely over a 1:1 a/to ratio and suspect defense...we don't need these types of players anymore. When are we going to move on from him?

If Sessions is about as cooked as we thought Jack was (seems true) and rosters are 17, but two of that 17 is "two way contracts"

Frank/Burke/Sessions (3)
THJr/CLee/Baker (6)
McD/Kuz/LFT (9)
KP/Beasley/ (11)
WHG/Noah/KOQ/Kan (15)
Dotson (16)

It's one guy too many. Kornet is on a two way to the G League. I thought Dotson was not on a G-League two way.

I'm thinking KOQ and/or Lee are traded before the season starts and I also think Beasley requests a trade / release at some point this year.

Also, I still think giving Kornet a 2-way contract was a mistake. :-?

Ha - I knew you were going to say that about Kornet.

Like everyone else, we know right off the bat Jack or Sessions is gone because of this. But # of spots indicates it's probably both?
Banging Moocow's drum here - it's not about this move. More, it's about which person in the front office/scouting department/? thought to sign Sessions, but now he's not good enough. Or that Jack was worth it? I mean, not my money, but isn't Sessions guaranteed? It's not a lot and it was a one year deal, but it just looks kind of disorganized.
On the plus side, maybe someone thought these guys were a good idea, Jeff went to management and said "Hey, they are terrible, we need another PG" and they listened.
I mean - young legs for Frank to practice against, but didn't they already think of this? And bringing in Jack was always just sort of dumb - Sessions is already here. Baker can fill in at PG. That's 2.5 PG's right there.

Theory: Right from the jump Knicks weren't thrilled with Session "mentoring" and brought in Jack, figuring "Sessions will be the backup PG and Jack the mentor". Jacks is completely done and Sessions has been not that good and if his mentoring isn't good, why not just bring in a younger PG?

Conspiracy theory of a scrub signing.

Well, got through the whole thread and I see the Knicks got a roster spot for Noah's 12 games.

Like other's said - a 12 game tryout and then G-League or maybe the Knicks part ways with Sessions.

The fact the Knicks went after Jack and gave him a long look (yes, I know Baker and Frank were injured), then went and signed Burke, makes me think they aren't that thrilled with Sessions.

I find it shocking that Sessions, as an older player, would come to the Knicks to cash a check. :-)

I was hoping to keep Jack or Sessions for veteran/mentorship for Frank but both of them looked like they were done. I was also hoping for Jack to anchor the bench but Dotson has stepped up and I want to see Baker gets minutes for his defense.

Hey Knick dudes, Jazz fan here.

Far be it for me to tell you your business, but after the last couple players, I think you may be doing it wrong.

Just a hunch.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

I believe he wants to make some dumb ass crack about Burke and I would supposed Enes Kanter, sort of ignoring the fact that Kanter wasn't the centerpiece of a Melo deal, but more a way to collect a couple of young players and a pick (2nd rounder) in McDermott and Kanter, that occupied the same salary cap space as Melo, and move on from Melo.

Instead, out of boredom, I guess, he'd rather come in here with what passes for wit in Jazz land, about the Knicks building something around Kanter and Burke, or something like that, when one was cap filler and the other is 3rd/4th string PG.

I mean, when his time could be better spent advocating for changing the name of the Jazz to "Caucasian Religious Fundamentalists" - or some other name more evocative of Salt Lake City and Utah.

Both Burke and Kanter were our draft picks that didn't work out. I'm sure they'll do just fine in NY though. :)
