An interesting wrinkle. Woj claims AD won't sign an extension and will simply wait until 2020 to opt out and sign a new deal:

Woj is ass backwards. How will it open up more stronger offers if Teams know the uncertainty is there that he WON’T sign an extension until 2020. The risk being it might not be with your Team if he AGAIN does like what he’s seeing and wants out. :nonono:

Teams will NOT give many valuable assets knowing that. Just look at how little the Sours got for Kawhi, arguably the greatest 2-way player in the Game.

We should NOT bid against ourselves, we all know Woj is a biased journalist who hates NY.

i was confused about that too. the tweet before it says the list is teams he'll commit to signing long term with. financially it makes sense to wait the year so that was probably always gonna happen. not sure why the offers are gonna be stronger with that info.

Wait and see approach is key. Patience is virtue we haven't experienced in a long time.

Very good news.

How about this --

This year's pick, DSj, both Mavs picks, Knicks 2021 unprotected.

AD extends on the trade. They include Jrue.

Keep Knox and Mitch and just give them a boatload of picks. If they want Dotson, maybe you do that but that's it. No Frank either.

Why Jrue??? He's a really good player, don't get me wrong, but we're star hunting and he aint a star.

If your proposal were to come true. Here's how the #'s would breakdown:

Ntilikina (4,855,800)
Knox (4,380,120)
Robinson (1,559,712)
Davis (27,093,019)
Holiday (26,131,111)
Dotson (1,618,520 N-GTD)
Trier (3,551,100 Team Option)
Min roster: (5,869,248)

=75,058,630

that takes away the cap space for KD, however you can make just enough room by cutting Dot and declining the option on Trier.

It would make way more sense to just wait. The Lakers offer isn't going to get much stronger than what it is now, and its something the Knicks could probably beat right now. Better to wait until the offseason: Sign KD, Kyrie, and then trade for AD.

Not sure how we are unlikely because KP is gone but no mention of the Bucks and Clippers being unlikely given their lack of assets. I guess it is really Lakers or bust. Good for us that Boston isn't mentioned as that probably means AD knows Kyrie is bouncing.

The Knicks have better assets, well with a top 3 pick.. I don’t make a deal with the 1ov pick.

R.J. Barrett, Allonzo Trier, Frank Ntilikina, Mitchell Robinson, 2020 First for Anthony Davis. Then you just fill in the rest. Durant and Kyrie.
