he's shown nothing so far. you see it with players whether they have the "it" factor.

dsj doesn't have it
frank doesn't have it
knox doesn't have it
mitchell robinson DOES have it

we watch games to see what mitchell does, nobody watches what dsj is gonna do. that lasted 3-4 games.

Question bNo - if DSJ turned into a 40% 3PT shooter what would you think about him? Let’s say his penetration, passing, and defense stays the same. Continues to work on his shooting and turns into a reliable deep treat (similar to Kyle Lowrys trajectory over time) would you then view him as a legitimate starting PG in this league

do you see the hitch in his shot?

he's never going to be a threat from downtown.

That hitch truly scares me because it’s evident with his 55% FT. Gonna take a lot of work for him to get to the likes of 70% FT and even 34-35% FG from 3T

Nowadays though with how athletic and fast the league is and with so many two way players and offensive minded point guards, being great at just defense and very mediocre at offense won't cut it. If he was more athletic I think he'd get more time to develop. I just can't see him sticking around in the NBA for much longer. Maybe some time in the G league or back in europe would be good for him, allow him to develop his offensive skills and build his confidence.

I hear that you and your band have sold your guitars (Frank) and bought turntables (DSJ).

As a musician this is a post of the year candidate! Straight hilarious.

You still making music? I’d like to hear your catalog. You strike me as an analog head in a digital world.

Yet Frank can't even get on the court due to a pulled groin.

Yo why are you trying to derail threads?

I didn’t even mention said person and you be trying to start stuff. Just chill for a moment.

Tell me if dunking right after tearing an ACL and MCL is smart? It isn’t. And even what the snake did is stupid. Cool for IG, stupid I’m real life.

And like I mentioned in a ton of threads earlier, conditioning in summer will reduce DSJ’s nagging back injuries.

I desperately need DSJ to pan out and stay with the Knicks.

Honestly I'm tired of watching these non-athletic guards play point for the Knicks. This ain't the 50s anymore.

Since Marbury, who have we had? Duhon, Felton, Kidd, Prigioni, Jose, the ghost of D-Rose, Jack, Frank, Mud... Lin was arguably the most athletic guard the Knicks have had since Marbury. Before that we had Mark Jackson, Derek Harper and all these other guys. This is too depressing man. It's not even about the dunks but damn I want to see some exciting guard play.

Hopefully DSJ fixes his shot and comes back healthy and with a vengeance.

Baron Davis was a super athlete in the mold of dennis smith jr that had back problems but carved out a decent career. but Baron was a better shooter, bigger, stronger, longer, better passer and ballhandler than dennis. I'd be worried if dennis loses a step, I'm not sure he is skilled enough to make up for it and reinvent himself like eric gordon did for example.

Yes, the same Smith Jr. thread where KP got brought up by Phish Tank then he (and you) turn around and insinuate I'm the one derailing the thread. How hypocritical.

Let's keep it real. Y'all don't have a problem with any other player discussed in this Smith Jr. thread. The issue is y'all are just super sensitive and mentally cannot bear anyone to not heap praises on Nathan.

If Nathan lives in my head as a squatter, then what are you...the sheriff issuing the eviction order?

Ask yourself why are you so invested in my opinion on Nathan, if there is an ignore button? Why even quote me and attempt to garner a response? Unless of course, you either want the Nathan's dialogue to continue or you want my attention (e.g. baiting).

Spoiler:
This is also back-seat modding and a borderline personal attack.

I loved B-Diddy's heart, grit, and guts but dude was a poor shooter. Especially after his injuries. He just chucked a ton of 3's on high volume yet low efficiency.

But I was still a big fan of his cuz he is a real one. When he got carted off in the playoffs in his last game in a Knicks uniform he went out like a soldier. Knee went in three different directions yet no tears. No grimace. Dude was smiling. I respect that. He left everything out on the floor. We had bodies dropping like a war zone that playoff series and he gave us his last.

But yes, I dig the B-Diddy/Smith Jr. comp. I have comped them myself. But he wasn't really a good shooter. When I compare the two I compare Smith Jr. to young pre-injuries athletic B-Diddy. Not the veteran edition who took a ton of 3's.
