I could see him going 6 to ORL. They need a stud in the backcourt in the worst way.
Well that was because Ja was a clear #2. History shows for Memphis that if there was an actual decision to be made, they would make the wrong one.
So are you saying that they’d probably take RJ last year at #4?
I gotta look at their lottery selection history. Thabeet sticks out in an awesome draft

Yes, if RJ was in the draft last year, I think they should have taken him over Jaren Jackson, but they would likely not do that.
In 2009, I won't give them chit for not drafting Harden or Curry. Nobody was really having them at #2 (at least locally). But they should have drafted T. Evans. That's what everybody was expecting, especially since he was a Memphis University player.
Also, in 2008, they traded up for OJ Mayo and gave up the rights to the #5 pick (Kevin Love).
Anyways, I think all that might have worked out for the better. Grizzlies assembled a pretty good "Grit & Grind" era, which would not have been possible if you had Evans + OJ Mayo. Conley would have been traded. And Kevin Love + if Thabeet was good, there would be no Zach Randolph + Gasol.
