Knox and Randle.
Hold firm to it.
Only substitute could be 27 for Knox.
Otherwise forget it.

Randle + Knox is a win. But unless Woj, and or Shams reports I won’t believe a thing.

Paul — Frank
Vassell — Dotson
Barrett — ??????
?????? — ??????
Robinson — ?????

Fill in the holes with respectable players and they can become a playoff team.

There would probably be picks Sent to the the thunder as well. probably next years Mav pick or knowing the Knicks maybe even more lol.

Theres no way the Knicks can get Chris Paul without adding picks when you have a bunch of other teams in the running as well that want his services, especially teams ready to win now and don’t really care about adding picks to there package

If we can get rid of Knox and Randle and bring in CP3 and Bazley. That would be nice.

Open to moving one or both mav picks (they're likely gonna be late first any way) and a second added maybe.. our 2021 should be a no go

if they're going this route, it won't be just chris paul probably. it will be chris paul & oladipo. hope that oladipo bounces back. hope that melo signs. get to the playoffs. try to convince giannis to sign.

it's sort of the miami plan with jimmy butler. establish a defensive identity with thibs. draft defenders/shooters. attract stars.

I don't care if OKC has to take on Randle, or that Paul is the better player.

At 36+37 years old, to take on a player who is making 40 million per, picks better coming TO the Knicks, instead of out.

Otherwise, Rose/WWW, but particularly, Aller is full of sh*t.

Because that is piss poor cap and risk management.

Yeah as much as we need a PG and as much as Randle needs to go, I'm not confident that this is the right route to take

Could they even afford Dipo + Giannis with CP3 on the books? They would probably have to let Dipo go just to sign Giannis anyway. Don't really see Giannis coming here to play with 36 year old CP3, and not much else.

They have to know that the cap is probably going down, or at least not increasing as much as initially projected too. That makes CP3's contract even worse. Really doesn't make sense for the Knicks to take it on at all, unless we are getting some really good picks/assets back.

What’s scary about this is that this has the the makings of a Scott Perry production.

If so god help us all.

no. but dipo is expiring. he's just here to convince giannis to come. as you say, he's to us, what d-lo was to the nets. unless hee's willing to sign for a lot less.

he probably won't come but that's the play here. getting chris otherwise doesn't make much sense. but the guy the bucks are targeting to convince giannis to stay is chris paul. for them to do that they'll have to basically get rid of everyone who's not middleton.

There’s no way that gets us Paul but if that’s all we’re giving up for that’s fine. Marci says in the article we’re not looking to give up any significant draft capital for Paul. So I’m not to sure this will actually go down. Someone should be able to beat this offer easily.

Not necessarily
Lets look at potential offers

Bucks:
They would need to give up Bledsoe,Illyasova and George HIll to get to match salary (33mil in total)
Bledsoe is 30 with 16mil a year on his deal for the the next 2 seasons and 4mil guaranteed for 2022
They have Indianas first round and their future picks..

So lets say its Bledsoe, Illyasova and George Hill for a total of $33mil.
Do the Bucks give them 2 first round picks on top of that? maybe to keep Giannis happy

Potential max offer: Bledsoe, Illyasova, Hill, #24 and 2022 top 3 protected pick.

Sixers:
Tobias Harris or Horford would need to be in the deal
Harris has 4 years at 40mil a year, would require multiple 1st included
Horford has 27mil for the next 2 years and has 14mil guaranteed in 2023. They'd also have to add Mike Scott to the deal to get salaries to match.

Potential Max Offer: Horford, Scott, 2021 1st round top 3 and 2023 top 3 protected pick

Now these IMO are these teams max offers. Who knows if they up the anti this high.

But IMO a Randle/Knox offer is very comparable. How so?

In both these instances the Thunder are taking on $33mil in salary obligation for 2020.
In the Knicks offer, they would be taking back $23mil in salary.
What is the value of $10mil in pure cap space.
Is there a third team who could be added to the trade that would like to shed $10mil of salary for a future pick? In this financial environment - probably.
Now look at 2021 - Does Bledsoe carry positive weight at his $16mil deal - iffy
Randle has only $4mil guaranteed for 2021 - He def holds more value on that deal then Bledsoe does.
Horford, its not even a question.

Does Presti value the cap space flexibility over the future picks? Does he he think he could squeeze more assets out of the cap space we are giving him rather then the future picks the Bucks/Sixers which we can assume to be playoff bound teams? Seeing how Presti operates, I would think he would value the flexiblity
