It's crazy I was reading the latest athletic article about the rockets and they say they still don't know what they are going to do at #2. They have all the info in the world and they even interview and see these guys workout this is what they do and there is still a lot of debate. Now imagine us that basically just have to go off intubation and scouting report videos

i know mobley wants to be in houston at least so that might get them to pick him

and yeah i remember those days of having a top pick. picking between luka and ayton was pretty tough but worked out in the end for me with the championship

Bagley has some skill offensively you can see. But man he is a sieve defensively. I haven't seen many bigs on that level in a while. Kanter is awful awful but he is physically strong and can hold his ground. Bagley gets thrown around the paint like a child.

I still look at my PM to ill at the time for the #1 pick. He wanted one extra 1st an the deal would have been done. I just didn't pull the trigger. Biggest regret in BAF.

I was just thinking we should do a biggest success/regret rundown so far.

Success: SGA pick, sticking to my guns with my 5-year plan.
Regret: Not waiting to trade Kemba. My return was pretty meager and I could have at least squeezed another pick out of that deal.

bagley can be a good defender if he stays locked in. look at jokic try to move him and he still blocks him. there's a lot of potential there on that end. he's pretty mobile. just needs to work on his defensive IQ. and that really improves with coaching. idk wtf they coaching down there in sacramento. nobody plays d there

I don't see why he would need to lie. Like you said the top 6 in whatever order you have it seems at least pretty consensus. So he knew who would probably be available. Dont see the reason for misdirection.

The moment I dropped out of the top four, I had no interest in the pick. I do like Barnes as a team player, he has to turn into Issac in the sim to really be worth it. With Kuminga I already have Reddish who I'm still quite high on, so it seemed redundant. I'm happy with the trade I have lined up, it's more curious to see where the pick actually ends up to me.

I would like to pick at 6. But he is only one player and if you miss, your off season is a bust. This reasoning is why I accepted the Lakers offer of multiple young players for Mitchell. A shotgun approach

It seems no one wanted to send a top five pick for Mitchell. I think the best offer I got for him was in the 8 - 10 range. The KAT offers were few and far between.

Less than 36 hours to go. I can't speak for everyone but the trade talks have died on my end. I have a feeling this draft is going to move very fast; with most GM's already made up their minds on the players they want.

I do agree Sacramento is a mess in general. They have Fox and Haliburton there is no way they shouldn't at least be a competitive team moving forward. Walton is a great coach either.

But I am a believer you either have defensive instincts as a player or you don't. Maybe someone can hide bagley more but for every one decent clip you can find I'm sure I can find 50 that show him completly loss on the defensive end. I do think he has more offensive potential then he has shown in SAC though.

Not quite enough. I like Killian, Okongwu, and Bey more. Like I said, Okongwu and Bey were two of my favorite players in last years draft. Killian, Goga, and 17 was icing on the cake.

I disagree. We saw Ayton come into the league with very little defensive instincts on defense and now he is one of the best big men defenders. Even randle made big strides this year. Coaching matters in my opinion.

Another good question is the potential best player in the draft might not play the best in the SIM either. The SIM loves efficiency.

Ayton was a fine defender in college he just needed some development first year in the NBA. A lot of young bigs need time to develop. But it's not like he didn't have that skillset in his bag. Coaching is on obviously very helpful but defense is reactionary and awareness when other skills can be developed through reps.

For example I dont think anyone thought Ayton on his college scouting report was going to be a liability defensively. Those were concerns for Bagley from the get go. Tweener, can he defend the rim enough to play then 5? Is he mobile enough to guard current NBA 4's that play on the perimeter.
