Dude really owned up to his struggles in the first half and fixed it. Gotta respect that.

If he could only deliver on the promise of hitting threes. He's been great since he apparently got healthy.

If he could hit the three, we become a very dangerous playoff team.

He has to be used that way though... Thibs wants him in the paint generating 2nd attempts so RJ can brick two 3's!

Also credit his durability. Thibs’ centers almost always play musical chairs with injuries because of how much he sends them into the paint. Hartenstein has provided energy and continuity where past centers have spent weeks and months on IR.

He's at 1626 mins on the season. The incentives on Sportrac says 1.035 not 350, maybe a cap savant can clarify

he went from being my most hated rotation player to being someone i trust to make a play. worth pointing out that hart's arrival has a lot to do with his elevated play. i know he was starting to cover his ass a bit before then, but once he had the passing chemistry and rebounding compensation from hart he's been able to play like a baby noah

We probably have the inside track on resigning him, at least, I would think so, unless another team makes him a stupidly large offer.

Yep. I won't pretend I wanted him or supported him but he's sure shut me the hell up.

I'd still upgrade in the summer if possible though b/c we need a backup who's starter level due to Mitch's injury history

I would say we already have one, that’s iHart. When Mitch got injured this year he and Sims held down the fort wonderfully and we still won quite a few games

Yep. Thibs has used him to close games too, even when Mitch is there.

This guy needs his own thread to talk about him. A mod should probably just change the title of this one.

Anyway, how can anyone watch what hes been doing and want to bench him when/if Mitch returns? Seriously, explain it to me. He’s just as good on defense and the boards while being sooooo much better on offense. To me it doesnt seem close especially when taking durability into account. Isaiah is only getting better too, and has another level if he starts hitting jumpers.

Can we offer Hartenstein the full early bird contract, starting around 15 mill, and also give him an opt out after 1 season if he wants an even bigger raise? That seems like the best offer we can give no?

If money is an issue, then we simply trade Mitch at a later date. We shouldnt tie up too much money in 2 strict centers. So unless Isaiah starts hitting threes and can play some PF too, it seems like one of them has to go eventually. Its nice having 2 quality 5s, but they arent going to be happy splitting minutes forever. They’re great friends though so who knows, maybe theyd be cool with 24 minutes each. Isaiah just has to play starters minutes to me the way he’s going.
