Lol. I know you’re partly joking, but Grimes really is under so much pressure to be great now after the Mitchell saga.

Grimes will be a good 2 way SG who can maybe average 15-20 ppg at some point, which would be a steal but still wont be enough for some.

Either way, even if healthy hes not gonna start for a while unless he severely outplays Fournier, and even then Fournier will still prob start to keep his value up and Grimes will just finish.

In the absence of Grimes, I like Cam starting... Cam can do what Fournier does: which is nothing, but with 10x better defense and deflections.

The Big 3 will take all the shots: RJ, Brunson, Randle

Fournier will light it up off the bench on kick-outs from Rose and Quick

Cam is not that much better than Fournier on defense to make up for the gap offensively. Fournier can shoot, space the floor, and also create in a pinch. Cam does nothing on offense besides the occasional nice play.

Fournier is awful on defense.

Cam is awful all-around.

By NBA standards.

Perhaps the tooth fairy will give Cam some NBA abilities. Assuming even the tooth fairy doesn't like him, he's far from being an NBA player. It's hard to beleive how inept he looked on both sides of the court in the preseason.

My impression of Cam is he's a helpless fan in an NBA body. doesn't study at all. His motion off the ball appears entirely random and I've seen him dodge his teammates numerous times from being in the wrong place on the court or just because he has poor anticipation for where a play is unfolding even when it is not a set play. He mostly seems lost out there. His occasional good moments show off his potential creativity with adroit finishes around the rim that the average player would not be able to convert. But it does not make up for the rest.

Cam is still raw NO talent. He never refined his game and his understanding of how it is played.

as far as the summer goes, we saw him put in a ton of work and show his progress in vegas. that's probably why he's hurt right now tbh, a lot of players say they learn not to overwork themselves in the offseason as they grow older in the league. younger guys do it because they typically have more room for improvement

I'm partially joking but, it sucks not being able to see where he fits in and how much did he improve. On the other hand, we see how much Cam sucks as a result. I never give up on young players but, I see nothing from him at all. He needs to be somewhere he can get minutes without any pressure. Maybe that will help with his sleepwalking tendencies.
