This game is a perfect example of unnecessarily playing the starters too many minutes

That's not even the worst thing I've hear from a groom at the altar this month lol
But besides that, the criticisms of Thibs are largely warranted. A good offensive coach can get more out of players, like OG is a great cutter, Grimes has shown flashes of cutting and moving 3s, I know DDV is playing great but he has movement shooting ability too. Get guys in motion because the offense stagnates way too much right now. Especially when Randle has the ball, when the double team comes, guys need to move to get open as it's coming, not wait until he's picked up his dribble
Also, even without injuries, we need Brunson and Randle to be in as good of condition as possible in the playoffs. I genuinely think part of the reason why Randle struggles in the postseason is because the season and Thibs wears him down. Yeah a lot of it is Randle not giving effort, but it'd be easier to give effort if you have the energy to do so.
It's weird too cuz he used to run Korver and Rip Hamilton off screens all the time. I've said this before about his use of Ihart as well. Thibs used to coach Jokim Noah and Ihart is close to being as good of a passer as Noah was and he really hasn't found a way to capitalize on that either. I know there's stuff in his playbook to use these guys better and he just doesn't do it. I'll have to make a new twitter account and tweet at Fred Katz to see if he can ask him about running guys off of screens more.

You know what sucks?
I wrote a whole essay giving all the individual stats on how many plays of each type we run in the halfcourt (https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/isolation) and how efficient we are at the, but then I accidentally hit refresh and it all got deleted. Rip
But the gist of it was, the only thing we do at an above average level both in volume and efficiency is PnRs where the ball handler takes the shot (ie, what Brunson does). Everything involving teamwork like off screens, cuts, PnRs to the roll man etc were all low volume and mediocre to terrible efficiency
Basically, the scheme doesn't elevate the players, and I can prove it with stats. That's why I think we should be looking for a new coach, cause Thibs isn't getting the most out of these guys, and it is kind of stunting the growth of anybody we do end up drafting.

IQ may have never even gotten to take a bigger role if we didn't get rid of Elf and Burks. He probably still should have played more then the 20-25mpg he was getting.
Thibs does do well maximizing wins and getting short term results, but it does come at a cost of development and maybe long term success or reaching a ceiling.
Plenty of guys started out at 10-15 minutes and developed just fine. IQ became the player he is in spite of not getting 36 minutes a game. It's not really either or. RJ got all the minutes he could handle and he still plays like a guy shooting with his off hand.

And Lebron is left handed in everything but basketball; he just doesn't play like it's his off hand is all I'm saying.

Thibs saw McGrady score 13 points in 35 seconds as an Assistant and it traumatized him for life

Defensive Stats vs Rockets:
(1) OG & iHart shutdown Houston on 10/33 FGA (30%)
(2) Combined for 8 deflections (OG 5/iHart 3)
(3) OG and iHart had 22 contested 2PT/3PT shots
(4) Combined for 9 stocks

So true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No more excuse’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone was crying all year, up until the trade, that we needed a big wing defender. Now that it happens, it's thibs fault if everything doesn't go perfectly? This is what everyone wanted for months. You can't make demands that and pass the blame onto the coach cuz the front office did the thing that you wanted. How do you go get that big wing defender without having to trade some of your good players?
Our starting line up right now is elite and fits together way better. Sorry that needed to sacrifice some of our depth but you don't get good players for free. Also why is he assuming that Grimes is being sent out for picks? There's literally not reason to assume that at all. Every rumor about moving has them attached to some sort of bench guard. It's like he's getting upset about a situation he's made up in his head.
Also what coaches don't have any say in the rosters that they're playing? Like does he think it's only scouts only speak to the people in the front office and none of the coaches? I hate to say it but Luke Kornet is a way better player than Precious or sims. Every minute Precious has been on the court it's been complete disaster. You just want to lose some games to give him a couple extra minutes? That whole video makes no sense.
Knicks had to sacrifice some depth to make the starting lineup stronger and fans are mad that Thibs cant somehow turn Deuce, Malachi, Fournier, Precious and Grimes into an amazing bench. They need more talent
Exactly. Trust me, I wish we could get more out of those guys but most of them aren't worth risking the win over.

Instead of adapting his system to maximize players' talents and abilities, he sold off or banished everyone who doesn't fit his rigid archetype.
That's fine and well, but now it's time to put up or shut up.
This is HIS roster, crafted by him, for him.
No more excuses for Thibs!!!!!
Nothing less than ECF!!!

Now I kind of feel bad for Thibs
Maybe if I saw his bank account I'd feel less bad

How does OG play 43 minute, and get 10 shots? Must hang out with Grimes too much.

Well we know they don't hang out that close to each other for about 30 minutes, at least, on game days
One guy seated, the other guy running around a lot to cover for the mistakes of the guys he's hanging out with

OG kind of like an Oakley, with a few more ppg for the 3 point era.
Really good defender, does all the little things, scores around 12 ppg (adjusted to 15 for modern pace), 3rd option, they'll run a few plays to get them some open jumpers and then all the rest of the points via hustle plays.
