1. Fourth quarter meltdowns need to be addressed. Cannot be up 19 and lose the lead at home. Thibs needs to fix this cause it's happening way too much.

2. Captain Clutch was great again. 16 in the 4th! Basically told the haters here to EAD!

3. The Imortal Hukster is a fun player to watch! Fingers crossed he's earned Thibs trust cause he's way more impactful than Sims.

4. Happy for Mikal getting the block and playing well against his former team but he disappears too much. He needs to be more assertive.

5. OG has become a go to scorer. He can average 20.

6. Payne is a Greg Anthony clone. Which is good and bad. He'll make a timely shot or steal but he can shoot you out of games too.

7. Cam Thomas is like the Michael Beasley of SGs. Kid can scorer in his sleep.

8. Sad when a mod and site admin also troll Brunson in game threads. I despise fans who trash the best player but this isn't new. We had fans who trashed Ewing and Melo the same way. It's one thing to criticize but they go overboard. Brunson is averaging 25 and 7 on 48/38 and you'd think he's Ben Simmons reading these idiots.

Good post although I don't get #4. Bridges was assertive and played a great game...period.

Thank you but Bridges did nothing during that Nets run in the 4th until the block at the end. He's too good to be a spectator but overall he was good.

That 4th quarter was kinda weird though. Thibs played the bench at the start of the 4th quarter but after awhile they slowly lost the lead and let the Nets gain a ton of momentum. I actually thought the bench played well but lacked actual execution. They were getting quality shots but not making them, which led to the lead evaporating.

With that said, once the starters came back in, the momentum was already lost and the refs started overturning calls in the Nets favor and letting them play physical.

While Bridges should have been more involved, I don't think he really hurt us in that quarter. The Knicks as a team just didn't capitalize on opportunities, like Cam Payne missing all those shots in the 4th and team having a lot of turnovers. We needed Brunson to take over.

Soccer cups are meaningful because they incorporate teams from lower domestic leagues that would otherwise have no opportunity to play the big players. So it's a different pool of participants. To organize a Cup with the exact same teams, with wins still counting for league results, is devoid of meaning. It's just fiddling with the schedule and somehow putting a trophy in the end to pretend it matters.

And by saying it matters, they're communicating the NBA Finals isn't the end-all-be-all it has always been. And while they all congratulated themselves over the uptick in ratings for the Cup last year (novelty effect), the NBA generated even less interest in the Finals last year. The 2024 Finals was the least watched Finals in the last 50 years, outside of the COVID years.

Their short-sightedness is unbelievable.

I hope the Knicks never win this stupid Cup because James Dolan isn't above throwing a parade for this, and it will be the most anticlimactic thing you can imagine.

There's talk that the NBA could eventually allow euro league teams to play in the cup.

Huk is special and is gonna be a problem for players.

BTW, I read an article today that called Huk "THE INCREDIBLE HUK." Clearly, the writer has been on RealGM and saw that I created that nickname about a month ago.

I suppose it’s better late than never. Huk needs to be in the rotation going forward.

And keep giving spot minutes to the other rookies.

Come on Thibs. The young man showed something last night. Let him play.

Huk isn’t ready for starter minutes. He’s ready to 10-15 mpg off the bench against 2nd units where his hustle is effective some nights and he’s a non factor others.

Precious should be in the starting lineup as an interchangeable 4/5 next to KAT. Hart belongs in the 6th man role off the bench. Rotation should be

Brunson (33)/Payne (15)
Bridges (22)/McBride (26)
Anunoby (33)/Bridges (13)/Hart (2)
Precious (24)/Hart (24)
Towns (33)/Huk (13)

Bridges plays 35 mpg
Brunson, Towns, Anunoby 33 mpg
McBride and Hart 26 mpg
Precious 24 mpg
Payne 15 mpg
Huk 13 mpg

With Precious out his 24 mpg should be split between Huk (5), Pacome (12) and Hart (7)

We are 12 games in for a new team...Bridges is just trying to figure out his place on this team. The "Balance god" is the issue-
not any of the starters...This Mikal talk is so silly. None of these knick fans that have an issue with Mikal after 12 games said a word
about him helping Brunson to seal the win...

Great that really solves the too many games problem doesn't it

I don't think the NBA wants to solve the too many games problem because fewer games means less money.

But, as far as games against Euro teams, honestly, I think that would add some spice and interest to the long and drawn out season. Not that I have any problem following 82 games, because I mostly do follow every Knick game, but I don't hate the Euro - Team - Tournament idea. I even kind of like it. I think that would improve the in-season tournament.

Though, as I recall, the purpose of the in-season tournament was to try to address tanking and tanking still happens.
