why would he hate Lin?

Not sure but he always has, ever since Linsanity started.. he always had a negative attitude towards Lin.

Hahaa he doesnt like him for whatever reason. That is clear. Hate is prob too strong a word. I think SAs resents how quickly Lin became famous, but Lind did it by balling out if this world. You would think SAS would respect that...

It's not just the one thing he says. He's had a pattern of it. He used to bash Yao Ming just as hard too. There's a history there. There's no doubt in my mind that SAS is racist. Honestly, I thought this was well-known at this point.

He just stated it like it was a matter of fact, like he knows for sure--financial reasons (not worth the money) the main reason. He did say that Yao is working behind the scenes with Houston and got Houston to raise their offer.

Not at all. If you think fatty gives us a better chance than Lin on the other hand, you truly are a Lin hater.

I think Lin isnt that much better than him they both put up all star numbers in the same system, felton is tougher(almost never misses a game) and plays better d. If the money is equal id take Lin because of his age.......only thing i hate about lin is how he put his contract before the team and didnt help us in the playoffs when he was so called 85%

Lin showed way more potential than Felton has ever even sniffed...

It's not about saying he's overrated. Plenty have said that. It's that he's been so anti-Lin since the beginning and didn't even give the kid a chance. It's that he spews things that nobody else does about Lin getting a big head. Really? He's changed? He's gotten a big head for going out and getting the best contract possible when the Knicks told him essentially to do so? Please. Trying to turn this on Lin? Ridiculous. It's all about the Knicks and nothing but the Knicks. You don't like Lin. We get it SAS and that's your opinion and I respect that. Just don't spew nonsense to attempt to justify your opinion.

If the coach didnt want him or didnt think highly of him, how was that gonna work. Its obvious Woodson prefered not to have him, but was pressured by the fanbase which loved Lin to say the right things.

Now that Woodson has job security having removed his interim tag, he can run his team and it doesnt involve Lin. They just needed an excuse other than the poison pill because this is the same franchise that gave/acquired ridiculous contracts to Eddy Curry, Jerome James, Allan Houston, Stephon Marbury...the list goes on and on so using money (while reasonable) as an excuse would have been embarrassing

On a positive note, Jeremy Lin's longtime trainer thinks the Knicks will match. Growing suspense entering the next couple of days.

Let's watch this bit of positive *speculation* be ignored so we can continue freaking out

Lin trainer's opinion could only come from Lin. That means Lin actually wants to be back and expects to be back.

If Lin wants to be back but we don't bring him back, it's crazy.

C.J. Watson got the minimum??

Isn't he better than Felton whom we're paying $3.3M per?

It makes absolutely zero bball sense to not match. It makes even less business sense not to match him. The only thing I can of as a valid reason not to match is that the knicks know something about Lin's health...

Exactly. That just means Lin wants to come back. It's already been reported that he was surprised by this Felton trade. Lin is trying to signal to the Knicks that he wants to come back hoping they still are open to it at this point.

If the Knicks botch this, it would be 3x worse than trading Ewing. He's an international star with a lot of promise. No one goes to Knick games to see Felton. In fact I'd be comfortable saying Lin is the biggest fan favorite on the team since he brings worldwide interest and support. And when the hell did Dolan start caring about money after throwing the bank at scuba like Curryand Jerome James? I think this might be dolans's ego getting in the way again. He probably feels Lin showed him up and now he can't deal with it. He **** this up and it's going to haunt this franchise well after Amare and Melo aren't here

That's you opinion which is fine, but I'm also looking at time spent away from the Knicks on Denver and Portland where he obviously did not do so well. There were various reports of him being a malcontent when sent to the bench on both the Nuggets and Blazers. Plus his reputation for coming into the season out of shape and using the first few stretch of NBA games to get in shape.

I think Lin is significantly better now and will definitely be better in the future. Which is why I hope we match. The money doesn't matter because we're already over the cap anyways, and only Dolan would be losing out. And if you think about it, Dolan would stand to lose more money by not resigning Lin and losing a significant portion of the fanbase rather than taking that $45 million dollar luxury hit and regaining it back through Lin merchandise sales.

Not that I need my posts responded to... but I still haven't heard where the 30 minutes a night we need to fill at the SG position for most of the year is coming from if we do NOT match Lin (This is assuming JR will play about 18 minutes at the 2 and about 10 minutes a night at the 3 when Melo is at the 4, which are think are reasonable assumptions).

James White? Jason Kidd? With all the moves we have made, not buying that we are going to leave ourselves so weak at SG while Shump is a huge question mark. Not buying it!

I still say the most logical explanation is that Felton is being brought in to play a lot of SG with no affordable quality SGs available.

Not saying I am definitely right, but to me this scenario is the most logical.
