No clear at all.

The classic mistake everyone makes in these situation is assuming because you (third person) don't know what the KNicks plan to do, or why they plan to do it, that the Knicks don't know what they're doing and why.

We assume because we're uncertain, and because the situation seems to waver, that the Knicks are uncertain, wavering or hedging.

That's not necessarily true.

The Knicks may be planning to match, and they may have been planning to all along.

then why bring in 3 other point guards ? c'mon man.

smoke screen of course...

$25 million guaranteed for a guy who was sleeping on a couch last winter is hard to pass up - especially for an economics major!

If the FO has decided not to match, and thus made the Felton trade, wouldn't we assume they would announce that on Monday after receiving the contract. What point would it be to take the full 3 days.

Let's just ignore Woodson's most recent comments about Lin saying he'll be the starting PG.

Knicks said they would definitely match Lin and match any offer in order to dissuade other teams from wasting their time making an offer, especially a big offer. It worked until Lin and the Rockets renegotiated, that changed things.

Not sure I agree with you because Felton will still be the only other PG on the roster who is not a) old or b) completely unproven at the NBA level.

Getting Thomas and Camby doesn't indicate the Knicks don't have faith in Tyson.

I love that people are ripping Felton. The guy was great in NY and played very well with Amare. He averaged 17 and 9 with 3 TO in 54 games. Yes it was in Dantonis system but so was Lin's numbers. Lin 18 and 8, with 5 TO as a starter. Felton also played wasnt the primary option like Lin was when Melo and Amare were hurt. Id like to keep lin but he isnt this irreplacable player.

so why go on record saying we resigning lin?

Well I guess hes just a big fat liar now, isnt he? Id rather try and fail with Lin than not try at all. But Woody wants a vet team....and he got it.

I'm not gonna take a break, but it's going to be harder, I think, to be a fan.

Marc Stein on ESPN NY right now thinks the Knicks will still match as he's too big off the court to walk away from.

“There’s always going to be Knicks fans, though,” Williams said. “They’ll sneak in. They’ll find a way.”

I just don't think he's comfortable with Lin running the show tbh. He put up great stats with Lin yea, but he's a superstar, he should be with any player. I think Felton and now Kidd will help his game more and make it easier for him. More give to to Melo for Iso's and post ups, where Lin doesn't want to do that and wants to get in the lane off a P and R and pitch it out or drive. Carmelo is more then a jump shooter.

JR hogs the ball and shoots way more than Lin. Yet Melo and Woodson love him because he's Melo's former teammate. This cannot be pure bball decision.

Guaranteeing you will match encourages what just happened, not discourages it.

Well, that's only 1 more than you "need".

And I can easily see a scenario where the Knicks are loading up on ball handlers/distributors and envisioning Lin, Kidd and Felton to a degree being interchangeable at the 1-2.

I've always believed the classic definition of the 1 - 5 positions is overrated.

More over, I'm perfectly comfortable not knowing what's going to to happen and why, and NOT drawing conclusions based on what I DON'T know.

It's not even about being irreplaceable but he is an asset. We are going to lose the guy for nothing over money? When have the Knicks ever lost anyone over money? We could get at least a first round pick for this guy if we really didn't want him. Instead we are throwing away an asset over money.

Numbers =/= full story. Let's ignore the 20 foot chucking from Felton, his tunnel vision, hot and cold pick and roll ability, overly aggressive defense which left him burned more times than not, and him being a fat ass.

Lin > Felton. Stop being the delusional fan trying to convince himself that something is true when it's not.

Woodson made those comments before Houston changed their offer. Lin tipped off Houston and they changed the offer sheet terms.

Well, seems they got the "unwanted" and "shipped around" part right.
