Re: Felton traded to Knicks; Not matching Lin? (part 2)
The assumption was that Lin would be getting a roughly $40 ($5+$5+$15+$15) million, 4 year deal. So the Houston offer is not that outrageous considering what could have been.

And you guys talked about seeing whose real fans with the Brooklyn Nets moving in. Half of you guys are bailing on the team for a player who played 25 or so games!!!!!

Exactly. Melo ran Lin out of NY. (And I'm not being snarky.) I betcha Melo complained about playing with Lin, just like he complained about playing for D'Antoni. He's a byatch this f-ing Melo.
dude Lin ran himself out of New York. If he really wanted to be in New York he would be in New York...rather he went and signed for even more money to F*ck over the knicks to a team that cut his azz.
f*ck that noise...Lin has showed nothing that he wants to return to NY. I am not a Felton fan what so ever but I refuse to root for a prima dona that cashed in on 20 games. We are the team that gave this kid a shot!

One, we don't even how the question why asked, two, I guarantee Melo was speaking on the poison pill aspect, the fact that the Rockets gave him that insane offer sheet.
We just need to chill out

Why do you care if they leave us?
Because I actually care about the team you numb skull.
I'm saying why does he care if you and other people stop being Knick fans because a player who plays 25 games and would cost us a poisin pill contract leaves.

To be clear, Melo wasn’t taking a shot at Lin, he was taking a shot at the Rockets for the ridiculous $14.9M balloon in Year 3.
Yes...but people will still hear what they want to hear. I didn't take what Anthony said as a shot at Lin...he was basically saying what everyone knows...that 3rd year is a wrench...that's why it's called a poison pill. Probably what the front office told him and the other players...I mean is really that hard to believe that the Knicks sent down a message to players to say the same thing and be on the same page?
But Melo should know better.

Enjoy Houston.
Yeah a little harsh but pretty much. Knicks are still a top notch team even if they don't match Lin. We move on...still as Knick fans. People that give up because of this really probably were never that much of a fan of the team to begin with. Toughen up...grow a set of balls and we move on IF it happens. I wish it don't come to that but if it does it does.

Yea I agree, you can tell he didn't mean to take a shot at Lin, probably more of a shot towards the Rockets but whatever the damage has been done, people here in NY take everything word for word, once again Melo is the anti-christ.
This. Melo just isn't that media savvy. Tends to say things without really thinking about them. He's sort of dumb when it comes to the media, but I believe that the shot was at Houston, not Lin like Hahn said it was.

Re: Felton traded to Knicks; Not matching Lin? (part 2)
Melo is a f*cking prick. I'm telling you right now. This isn't just about Lin bandwagon fans. Nobody gives up a crap if they go to Houston. There are a lot of loyal and hardcore Knicks fans that affected just as hard. We have suffered through so many bad years...this is like getting shot in the f*cking heart. If you don't think this will be a dark, dark day in this franchise, you sorely underestimate karma. Look to our history, man...
How can anyone look at this team the same way?
This is not a basketball decision. It wasn't as easy to see when we acquired Melo because he's a high-level talent, but we gave up the f*cking farm for him.
TKF was right. He's been right all along and has never wavered. All the bickering others have had with him...he was right all along....

^ He's not wrong to say that the third year is ridiculous. 15 MILLION?! Cmon register that.
Lebron James makes close to that every year, should him or Jeremy Lin ever get paid the same amount of money?!

Agree with this wholeheartedly as well. Melo is the young bul but he gotta understand the media is very unforgiving and waits for the right opportunity to fu*k up.

Really. Everyone including Woodson would have been better served through the whole FA process to have been ordered to say "no comment".
