Re: OT: The WWE Thread
I could see Lesnar or Batista getting involved with the World Title. Orton needs a Mania opponent. Unless Punk is slotted for that.

I wish The Shield could come during the middle of a game and triple powerbomb Shumpert.

Well the winner of the rumble will be his opponent. If that be lesnar or Batista that's yet to be seen. Would Bryan not win that? Hopefully they don't screw RTWM up.

He's the new Director of Operations, aligned with The Authority. I love the new gimmick for him. His role has been minimal, but it's definitely a fresh look for him. I think part of why he's doing it is because of his growing career in politics outside the WWE.
I wonder if they're going to weave his past relationship with Daniel Bryan into the plot. Would seem like a waste not to. I would love to see him working as a covert sabateur of the Authority on behalf of Bryan and the "faces" but that's probably where they're not going with it.

I was wondering if he was going to return to try to get more exposure for Guardians of the Galaxy.

They've had one backstage segment together this far, but it was short and Kane did all the talking. Those Team Hell No skits were hilarious.

Exactly what I thought. Brock vs Batista.

Yup Batista vs Lesnar
Doesn't matter who's face or heel. Just book it as two physically imposing guys with alpha male personalities wanting to see who is the better, more badass guy by beating each other up. That's the way they've been portrayed too throughout their careers
It helps that both are full of charisma even if have average mic skills
The Beast vs The Animal - Sounds really marketable especially for WM30
After that, turn Batista heel and have him do his spotlight gimmick

Re: OT: The WWE Thread
Was watching a little Raw yesterday. Can someone explain what they did with the world title?
Why does Orton have both belts but is called only " the first WWE World Heavyweight Champ"
Wasn't the old WCW belt the Heavyweight Championship and the WWE belt, the WWE championship?

They unified them instead of having 2 major titles and no ONe TRUE champ, the had Cena (world heavyweight) and Orton (wwe champ) face of in a TLC match to determine the true champ.
They're not gonna go back to two titles ever again hopefully. I hoping this brings more prestige to the IC champ now.

Re: OT: The WWE Thread
I watched a few segments of RAW last night. I'm actually pretty impressed with the tag team scene, it really makes for a strong mid card and show.
You've got the Real Americans, Matadores, Usos, Prime Time Players, Shield, Wyatt family, and a few other decent teams that seem more makeshift.

Watching wrestling last night made me miss what wrestling used to be when I was a kid. I am not a fan of all of this kid-friendly stuff they have going on. The Bad/Good Santa match was meh. The lovefest with Twitter and all of the fan-voting going on takes away so much to me.
Maybe I'm just getting old.

The social media hyping gets old fast but this product is heavenly compared to 2009 in terms of being kid-friendly.

Yeah, Triple H wants to bring back the tag team. There's a few more coming up too.

That's true. I have to admit, I find myself rooting for the heels way more now. The PPV match with Cena and Orton, I wanted Cena to lose so bad. Even though the match could of been a little better, it was nice to see Orton win the belts.
I guess it's mainly because I am tired of Cena. He's just so artificial to me by trying to be universally likeable. Like he tries so hard and yet he constantly gets pushed into the big matches while other guys who are deserving, aren't.

Cena has been kind of stale for a while, but he is deserving of his spot. The reason they won't turn him is because he sells so much merchandise and the kids love him. When the match matters, he'd had some great matches in the past few years with Punk, Bryan, etc. The problem is the way they book him as a God, but it's been better lately.
The next few months are going to be crucial when it comes to Daniel Bryan. Bryan is arguably the best worker they've had, better than Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels. And he's in a spot right now where the fans love him for anything he does. Problem is, sometimes the WWE sees that as a sign to do whatever the f uck they want to do with him rather than push him to the top. He's been close. And he should be main eventing WrestleMania. But he's in the middle right now in terms of full out superstar and guy on the cusp. I hope they don't screw this up because the way they've booked the Shield and the Wyatts shows that they are capable of great booking.

the talent got a lot better in 2011 when they started signing guys who've been wrestling for years and not failed football players.
they need to stop wasting sami zayn down there already and use him!
