Is it possible that Jackson also told his fiancée that he wouldn't mind and would look the other way if those reports came out because it would help her and her family business?
Shelbourne- LA Reporter
Simmons- Living in LA
LA Times Reporter- obviously, LA
Me- I LIVE IN L.A. too (and still for the past 16 years that I've been here I still have been an ardent Knicks fan!)
If anyone gets a tip on where they think he is in L.A., let me know and I'll drive out and see if I can track him down...do some P.I. work for ya'll.![]()

None !
Only Jeannie Buss and Melo. If he wants to sign with LA then I guess Melo can easily convince the Lakers to accept a sign and trade. He could say he helped the Knicks.
The Lakers have zero incentive to accept a sign and trade but at the same time, it won't hurt them either as we're not in the same conference.
Would it get Melo any more money?

I actually wouldn't put it past some people to wait outside his house in LA and report such info here.

Phil Jackson is now battling his former club and his current girlfriend over Carmelo Anthony.
There were multiple reports Saturday night that the Los Angeles Lakers - with Jackson's fiancé Jeanie Buss as team president - believe they have emerged as a serious threat to sign the Knicks' free-agent forward. The Lakers can sign Anthony to a max deal worth $96 million over four years, compared to the Knicks' offer of $129 million over five years.
The Chicago Bulls, for weeks regarded as a potential suitor, currently only have the cap space to offer Anthony $75 million over four seasons.
A source close to Anthony told the Daily News that no decision would be made Saturday, but the seven-time All-Star owns a home in the Los Angeles area and the Lakers would give him the chance to play alongside his good friend Kobe Bryant.
The Lakers could be on position to sign both Anthony and LeBron James, although a more plausible scenario would be for the Lakers to add Anthony and re-sign Pau Gasol, who is being courted by the Heat, Thunder, Bulls and Knicks.
Anthony's wife, La La, also would benefit from a move to Los Angeles since she is a budding actress and has appeared in several feature films.

The Bulls are holding on to the belief that their pitch was the best of the four teams that didn’t have Phil Jackson as team president — and that they have “yet to hear no.’’
In fact, they haven’t heard much from Anthony since he met with the Knicks in Los Angeles last week.
The hope is that will change by Monday, so at least the Bulls can move forward with Plan B in case of bad news. They met with free-agent big man Pau Gasol in Los Angeles on Thursday and have started very preliminary talks with the No. 23 pick from the 2011 NBA draft, European standout Nikola Mirotic.
The team purposely is dragging its feet on the 6-10 stretch four so it can give Anthony as much time as possible to make his decision.
