Again- people are talking about giving up RJ, Quickley, Obi, Mitch AND future first round picks and swaps. For a 32 year old player. Are you kidding me? Even if Kawhi joined, is Dame, Kawhi and Randle a better big 3 than Kyrie, Harden and Durant? And where do you get the cap space or resources to surround them with shooters and defenders? You're not using your head...

There are players of all different levels of influence in the nba. And I'm not talking bout skill cause for the purpose of this argument you gotta be a superstar or at least a star. Lebron is one of them, I guess I gotta say KD is one of them. You can probably name only a couple more but CP3 is one of them.

Thibs don't tell CP3 to play defense, CP3 tells Thibs to run him a defensive play. He don't tell him to play harder, CP3 says everyone to play harder. He's self directed. And it's a damn good thing he's self directed in pretty much the exact things Thibs wants. But know this, Paul is the alpha. If he wants to rest he'll get a rest and if he needs to load management he'll load manage.

Randle would've got curse TF out this series and forced to rise to the occasion.

Best part of CP3 is not gutting the team.
We only have assets to get 1 star player.
We are more than 1 player away.

Dame is a great player to have but you have to build around to counter his weakness which is defense.

Doesnt look like he wants to leave POR. That makes it rather easy as its one of the tasks that can be scratched off the Knicks to-do list.

If they hire Kidd, Melo will be reunited with his former teammate and now, coach.

Looks like Dame is going nowhere. However, with so many "top-tier" teams getting bounced in the 1st round, I wouldn't be surprised if some other star came out of nowhere with a trade request.

Exactly, I mean at no point did it look like coaching was the weakness of the Blazers. Unlucky with injuries for sure, and there’s always a limit to what an undersized backcourt that plays little defense can do in the playoffs, but there’s very little a coach can do really fix that. If the Blazers really want to stay committed to building around Dame, then they’re going to have to move McCollum. That might be where we have a better chance of getting involved.

If Dame stays there after Kidd is announced this will be final proof that this guy has no mentality and ambition and is scared to play outside of Portland.If something this rumor should make you request a trade faster.

Stotts has been there too long. Great coach but it's time for a new voice.

Kawhi doesn't come to team up with RJ and Randle. But with Dame and Randle? That changes the calculus dramatically. I also think Dames game is not based on freak explosion and athleticism and will age well kind of like Curry. Though a bit older he is also not more injury prone like AD and Kyrie either.

A big 3 of Dame, Kawhi and Randle with Thibs coaching and a half decent supporting team has a pretty good shot to beat a year older Nets squad and the Bucks.

Lastly, do you think the 500 or so Nets fans out there are complaining that they give up all those players and picks to form their big 3 right now? I sure wouldn't be

That is very true. I think the Knicks opened some eyes this year and suddenly with a stabilized culture and strong coaching staff this will make a big difference moving forward and guys wanted to play here.

What Nets fans? If you're a basketball 'fan' in NY, you're a Knick fan. If you're a Net fan, you're a front-runner looking for a temporary diversion. The moment the Nets go back to losing, they find another diversion.
