The same Lonzo that missed how many games this season and would have been bashed for how soft he is?

The same Lonzo where the Bulls have fallen apart a bit without him

63% winning percentage with Lonzo
51% winning percentage without

But really, we could use a defender, ball mover, someone who plays well in transition and can play next to any combination of IQ, RJ, Grimes, etc…would have been a nice fit

It’s meaningless if you can’t be out on the floor, if he signed with the Knicks and missed 55 games you know the fans would be bashing him. I wasn’t upset they didn’t sign him, it was Fournier over derozan was the killer

Either way the front office made bad decisions

wouldn't that be fun as hell, the kids running every play. it would be so enjoyable to watch

You guys are remembering Mike differently from me. He also ran a short rotation and was reluctant to play younger players. He did have the right
play style philosophy though.

cant not play the kids if theres only kids on your roster

That’s what he’s supposed to say. Saying anything else would’ve been insanity. Hopefully he’s working overtime to rid the team of this demotivating sourpuss

 y’all been saying the same thing for the past 4 years. at some point y’all gotta accept reality.

The front office tanked a chance at the playoffs over Kemba Walker. Not even over a young PG. No wonder Leon doesn’t want any media action.

The debate about RJ versus Barnes got laughed off but RJ and Obi could be in the ballpark at least. I do like Barnes.

I think Brunson type PG would help Obi a lot. We need someone who is unselfish, though Brunson does not have some great court vision.

Id rather roll with Quickley than pay Brunson what he’s looking for

It was good for the FO to build up that team. It’s still a good thing. But they hired the wrong coach to work with them.

Thibs was a win now, please get us back to respectability NOW so we can attract a big FA. And it seemed to work at first. But, mostly, it was at odds with all of their other initiatives including the guys they drafted. Then they doubled down and idiotically extended Randle prematurely and now they have his replacement, a much better player for cheap who had to claw for time and finally break through.

This FO needs to get their ducks in a row. Too many cooks in the kitchen

He's getting a position in the org.

When the Knicks fire Thibs, Johnny Bryant gets promoted to head coach.
Now Bryant can't be as focused on development.
Strictland takes over as lead asst coach\in charge of development.

Basically, Rod backfills Bryant's position, replaces some of development lost with Payne, the vet coach void created when Woodson left.

All things considered that's quite probably the best overall way to fck up our draft position. With Obi absolutely going ballistic and giving us hope that the FO sees the light to jettison "you know who."

The whole vibe around the team is visibly different. The uptick in chemistry and ball movement is impossible to miss.

It is great way for the yutes to go into the off-season ready to work hard and hungry to come back firing on all cylinders. You can’t nickle and dime the tank. It is what it is

Anyone interpreting what Rose said to mean confirmation that Randle is staying put needs some remedial tutoring in media speak.

What is Strickland’s rep as a coach?

I recall hearing he's a good coach but don't personally know:

Coaching career
Strickland was hired as an assistant coach at USF under former Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua from 2014 to 2017.[2][citation needed] Prior to that, he served in an administrative role at the University of Kentucky under Coach John Calipari.[14] Strickland started his coaching career as director of basketball operations at the University of Memphis, taking over the job held by former NBA player, Milt Wagner.[15]

Strickland was an assistant coach for the South Florida Bulls, under Orlando Antigua from 2014 to 2017.[2] He formerly served in an administrative role for the University of Kentucky basketball team under head coach John Calipari and was the director of basketball operations at the University of Memphis under Calipari.

He is currently the program manager for the NBA G League's professional path

Lot of ties to Calipari/Kentucky, so I'd assume that means WWW and Rose.
I recall hearing he is very good at player development.
He's the program manager for NBA G League's professional path

Maybe I'm off on the coaching thing and Knicks are looking to put him in a FO role. I'd assume there's been some talk but maybe Rod is happy doing what he's doing. Coming to a team might be a step down in his eyes, or, maybe he sees landing with a team as getting that FO experience to eventually get into a GM role.
