Why doesn't Randle ever have to guard any difficult matchups? Ever. He never has more than 2 fouls a game it seems like obviously it's bc he don't play defense but he also never has a tough match-up

IIRC Thibs has drawn up some pretty creative defensive plans to contain Ja before. I'd imagine the best bet would be play drop coverage when it's a Ja- Adams PNR with Brunson going under the screen. If Ja is gonna hit a bunch of pull up jumpers, there's not a whole lot we can do about that. If Clarke is the screener, I'd still have Brunson go under the screen but have Randle hedge. When Randle's locked in, I've seen him guard the perimeter real well but he's not great in drop. Let's see if Ja can split defenders every time down the floor. If Clarke beats us on the roll, so be it. Basically do anything to try to stop Bane or Ja for beating us cuz they don't have a ton of scoring outside of those two with JJJ being hurt and brooks being pretty meh.
