Fair but there were only 4 teams with 50 wins in the east vs 7 teams with +50 wins in the west. Certainly more parity last year which caused more winning record teams.
But teams in the east are starting to separate now with more star power.

The Sacramento Kings have agreed to trade Andrew Wiggins and the #7 pick in the 2024 BAF draft to the Phoenix Suns along with the #15 pick in the 2024 BAF draft to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Seth Curry and the #4 pick in the 2024 BAF draft.
The Washington Wizards have agreed to trade Seth Curry to the Sacramento Kings.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to trade Payton Pritchard and a 2026 1st round draft pick (From Orlando) to the New York Knicks along with the #4 pick in the 2024 BAF draft to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for the #13 pick in the 2024 BAF draft and a 2026 1st round draft pick (From Boston).
The Phoenix Suns have agreed to trade the #12 pick in the 2024 BAF draft, a 2025 2nd round draft pick (From Philadelphia), a 2026 2nd round draft pick (From Atlanta) and a 2026 2nd round draft pick (From the Lakers) to the Houston Rockets along with the #24 pick in the 2024 BAF draft to the New York Knicks and a 2026 1st round draft pick (From Boston) to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, the #6 pick in the 2024 BAF draft, the #7 pick in the 2024 BAF draft, the #27 pick in the 2024 BAF draft, the #43 pick in the 2024 BAF draft, the #49 pick in the 2024 BAF draft and the #50 pick in the 2024 BAF draft.

Happy to grab 2 top-15 picks for #6 and #27, and then moving my 2nd rounders (besides #36) for future picks helps with my cap management for this year(plus who would want like 6 rookies lol)
I had a few targets in the top 15 but didn't wanna reach at #6, so this allows me to grab 2 of my targets projected in the top 15 area.

the playoffs were way more competitive in the east than it was in the west though. 3 playoffs series went to at least 6 games. in the west only one series went to 6 games.
and you can't just look at 50 win teams either. a team with 45 wins got to the finals. that's how competitive it was.
not knocking anyone in the west, but the east disrespect still doesnt make sense to me. it was super competitive last year, more than the west.
