Why would Donte say this is what happens when they let you run things to Rick though? Rick isn't running shyt? This makes zero sense now.

I think Rick is more involved than you think. Hes in the trusted circle of Leon/Thibs

Not only that, he took a discount to play with his brothers and we ended up trading him after just one season. :nonono:

Trash talking is one thing, but he’s going at his best friend’s pops, and then to the coach that gave him the opportunity last year to blow up into the player he is now

I see Donte getting roughly the same amount of points he did tonight throughout the regular season, around 15-20ppg

Kinda fake too going at Thibs now when you had his back last season when other players said they didn’t wanna play for him.

If you feel so strong about this, don’t duck the media when they ask you. Just man up..

What did Donte say or do that has you so bothered?

So bothered? lol Wouldn’t go that far, but not sure how much more clear I can be. You saw what he did and said to and about Thibs and Rick..

I saw Donte jawing at the line which is not unheard of in a basketball game. He seemed to make a joke about the scouting report saying "He can't finish right Thibs". Someone responded from the bench. Possibly Rick Brunson. Donte said "That's what happens when they let you run the show" which I have no idea what that actually means.

At the end of the game while going to greet his friends and former teammates Donte was confronted by Rick Brunson who seemed to be a bit upset. Jalen wasn't upset. Mikal seemed to be confused. I don't know what was said in that exchange between Rick and Donte but why would I be upset with Donte when Jalen clearly wasn't upset as he had his arm around Donte trying to pull him away from the confrontation.

We overreacted on this board when we thought Donte said "Thanks for the trade." Donte simply denied he did not say that which he didn't. Is it possible that Rick overreacted too? At the end of the day it was just a few words exchanged and the only person that seemed upset in the moment was Rick. Not Jalen. Not Thibs. I don't know how to take the little bit of information that we have and make Donte a villain from it.

That was someone from the bench or Rick. Thats what prompted Divo to say 'this is what happens when they let you run the show'

It’s mainly about respect. You don’t go at your boy’s father sideways like that. And a coach that did right by you, why go at him?

He went at Thibs by saying "He can't finish right Thibs"? That was crossing the line? Thibs did right by him how? By playing a good player? By giving him more minutes when he had no other players to play? He went at Rick by saying "That's what happens when they let you run the team"? What does that even mean? Do we even know he was talking to Rick?

I can't look at it as disrespect because I still have no idea what that was all about. Mikal was standing right there and knows all parties involved personally and professionally and he seemed confused in the moment. How do you know what was going on and who crossed the line from a couple of short video clips?

Your bullshyt about Thibs is telling tho… you think it’s ok to disrespect him because “he had no other players to play” lol like wtf. FOH man stop quoting me with this bs

It would help if you told me what you found so disrespectful other than saying he went at him sideways or it was serious disrespect since I clearly can't see what you see but you don't want to continue this conversation so have a good day.

Yeah DiVincenzo didn't "want out" he shot down those rumors today.

And Divo actually said he was hurt and sad when he found out he was traded that he signed a 4yr deal and wanted and expected to remain a Knick.

He wanted to stay. I wish we had kept him.

There have been contract negotiations at some point, and he will have expected to remain a Knick for years after what was talked about then and also recently before the trade I guess. It is unfortunate. I would have loved him as our starting 2. Brunson, Divo, Bridges, OG, Towns - wow.

The Knicks aren't even 100% and they are undefeated in the preseason.

Return to New York Knicks
