Jarred Vanderbilt is Diawara's floor. That's the guy I was trying to think of. Very similar style where they get the stop or board and then it's off to the races because they can handle the rock and move it on the go.

Kolek is almost a must now that Brogdon is retired. He looked much better tonight. I liked that Clarkson wasn't just looking for his own tonight as well.

I assume Shamet and Diawara get the 13th and 14th roster spots. They can use the first few months of the season to evaluate the fit of the players in Brown's system . There will be more options available for trade after December 15th. They can look to address the teams' needs between then and the trade deadline.

Outside of a slim chance at someone like Beasley, who they may or may not want for different reasons, I don't see anyone available at the moment that is worth moving our limited assets to acquire.

Garrison Matthews can shoot the lights out just like Beasley, without any of the headaches

I’m on record as saying Diawara will be a legit rotation player in 3 years.

I have only seen these couple of preseason games of Matthews so I don't why a high quality shooter like him isn't more in demand around the league. I can see he can shoot the 3 but i'm not sure what else he does or what his weaknesses are. Maybe he catches on somewhere else or maybe the Knicks can keep him around in the G-League like they did with Warren and Okeke last season.

It’s nice when your mystery box wings do something well on the nba floor already and there’s no projection necessary. diawarra seems like he can defend and rebound. That’s way more of a skillset than Dadiet has. Still not ideal but if you can teach him to shoot, you’ve got an nba player. Dadiet basically cuts well on offense and that’s all he’s got. There’s so many more things that need to be developed with him that I’m not sure if it’s worth the effort.

this insinuates they built a great roster around Kat stacked with talent but couldn't get it done due to poor defense. so please tell me which year(s) they had such roster.

Towns-centered teams were glorified turnstiles for a large part of his early career. Minnesota ranked in the bottom 10 in defense for six straight seasons from 2015-16 to 2020-21, with their best performance coming in the year Towns missed almost half of their games.

this doesn't answer the question. what year was the wolves roster stacked enough to be considered a contender - but towns defense held them back?

So you’re really suggesting that KAT leading all those teams to the bottom 10 of the league defensively would’ve still happened if you swapped KAT with someone like Embiid. Got it!

Knicks with 75% of their opening night rotation could barely beat the Hornets also not at full strength. Knicks were mostly poor defensively and gave up what felt like 100 offensive rebounds. Knicks offense hunts 3 pointers they can’t make while the everyone on the Hornets calmly sank 3 after 3. Somehow the Knicks won, probably Brunson

He was a step late on a lot of his rotations but the desire, athleticism and effort are there. That will get coached up and he’ll adjust to the league

I'm so happy I hyped him up like I did when we drafted him. I had a very good feeling about him, especially with his self-awareness in how he spoke in interviews

He’s played maybe 5 games in the nba and the preseason is kinda fake anyways. I’m sure the speed of the game is just way quicker than he’s used in whatever lower level French league he came from. Let’s hope he eventually adjusts cuz bring him one step closer to being useful. He’s got bad touch, so I’m not really sure he’ll ever get there but there’s been some encouraging signs.
