"Interestingly, according to a source familiar with the Knicks' previous free-agency plans, they and the Celtics actually explored trading Wallace, Humphries and Courtney Lee for Stoudemire and Shumpert over the offseason. Now that the Celtics envision Avery Bradley as their shooting guard for the future—"They like him at $6 million a year," the source close to the Celtics said—they don't have a need for Shumpert."

Jason Thompson, Isiah Thomas (or Grevis Vazquez), John Salmons, Marcus Thornton, Jimmer Fredette

for

Amare Stoudemire, Iman Shumpert, Raymond Felton, Tourey Murray, and Chris Smith

Chandler/Thompson/Aldrich
Bargs/Martin
Melo/Artest/Salmons
Hardaway/Smith/Thornton/Fredette
Thomas/Prigioni/Udrih

We essentially swap the money we'd owe past 2015 to Shump and Felton for Thomas and Thompson.
Go Knicks!

What do you guys think of J.R Smith/Pablo/Aldrich/T.Murry or Hardaway Jr for Perkins/Sefolosha.

Piston fan here.

I’ve been listening to the talk radio in NY and it seems as Knicks fans are looking for drastic improvement. Some want to blow it up and others want to make the best move to get the team deep into the post-season.

If the Pistons were to call inquiring about Carmelo Anthony what would you offer?

If you are not trading Carmelo is there anyone on the Pistons team that you think would help the Knicks?

Drummond. I can get over the fact that he's the worst FT shooter in the NBA.

Yes if they trade Melo it signals a rebuild. Drummond would make the most sense. I really don't want to have to pay big bucks for Monroe in a new contract. Josh Smith doesn't make sense. And, no way on Jennings. Ill get over his FT shooting as well.

I'll throw this deal out there again since it's getting buried.

Udrih to GSW

for

Bazemore, far off in the future 2nd round pick

Udrih looks pretty solid for an aging vet against Indy tonight.

For the Pistons guy, I'd want Drummond but I doubt Detroit deals him.

Monroe, KCP, 1st, expirings for Melo, Felton?

getting drummond would be awesome, but i don't think detroit would trade him.

if the knicks are looking to trade melo, orlando seems like a good call. they've got our pick, oladipo looks like a player, and on top of that they'll have capspace in 2015. i'm not sure how good turk and nelson look but the salaries match, along with them they return the knicks pick back and since the knicks seem deadset on trading shumpert, they can ship him off to the nuggets for fornier( i don't know how good he is honest) while returning the complete rights of the knicks own draft pick. and into the tank we go.

that would be a ridiculous turn of events, given all of the **** the knicks went through to try and be a championship caliber team, but they've failed getting their guy the proper reinforcements. if we're gonna cut our loses, we could probably do worst.

I think Detroit wants to win now and Sacramento wants to win now. Tell them to give us their pick, we'll give them Melo and we get back, say Josh Smith & Stuckey/Charlie V. Fine, it's like 30 cents to the dollar, but we get the 2014 pick.

Sacramento has new owners, they want to win now too. Trade them whoever they want from our team, but give us the pick.

Do you mean top a 5 LOTTERY PICK?

By the way any of those teams we trade Melo to will make the playoffs and give us a crap pick.

Once again, WE NEED TO WIN THIS YEAR because no one will trade us a lottery pick.

Rebuild in the draft AFTER this one, at least we keep our own pick and can actually tank instead of wishing a team we trade Melo to doesn't make the playoffs.

yeah, pretty much with the exception being the magic. if they couldn't pull off that deal, we're between a rock and a hard place 127 hours style.

I can't see Melo being traded to the Magic with an opt out at the end of the season. Orlando won't give up Oladipo plus a unprotected pick for a guy who will leave at the end of the season and not allow them to build around.

Let's face it, the only way Melo leaves is if he decides to on his own. If things are decided by the trade deadline hopefully he would let the Knicks know so they could get something.

Most likely Chandler comes back, the team is boosted by his presence and we make the playoffs. If it's a first round knockout we might see Carmelo leave.

Then we can tank the next year

it wouldn't be for oladipo. it would be for turk, and nelson and the rights to the knicks/nuggets pick. i don't see why melo wouldn't re up in orlando. it's orlando. they'd have oladipo, plus a **** ton of capsace in 2015 (even more so then the knicks). they could add kevin love, maybe even marc gasol as well (not sure about the cap at that point) oladipo-melo-love-gasol would be pretty formidable championship caliber team.

the knicks should then flip the rights status with the nuggets for shumpert, then go full tank mode for wiggins, parker, randle, embid or exum. then the follow year try to get anyone of those picks a wingman.

At this point, I don't think anyone should complain about that deal. Melo for Turkoglu + Nelson + our pick back. It even saves Dolan's money. Then you can blow it up and tank like crazy for the next two years.

QFT
Reality post.
If Chris Paul wants Melo, and Doc Rivers wants Melo- then I believe Melo would accept a trade. Dominant pt gaurd, defensive Center.

Ofcourse , will the owner give us Blake--b/c that would be the trade straight up. it's b/c Melo can nix any trade that I don't see a better, younger player that we can get.
