Slovenia sucks. Just as Greece did. I hate teams that refuse to play attack. Slovenia had zero sense of urgency today. They were cowards.

Or Slovenia played like dogs and made them look better. USA>Slovenia.

They didn't refuse to play attack, they just don't have the talent or the skill England possesses. They got by with work ethic and team spirit. Look at the talent pool we have to choose from, it is the only way they can play.

Slovenia was a tale of 2 sides vs USA. 1st half they looked brilliant and were unstoppable the way they were playing but the 2nd half they were getting exposed badly.

I don't know if the potential to clinch a round of 16 berth that faded away vs the US draw carried over today but it doesn't look like they were playing for the lives

Persona non grata and enemy of the state here. There were also rumours he wants to play for Serbia so he doesn't count.

You know what, he went from goat to hero in the blink of an eye. I thought he looked slow and listless for most of the game. Dempsey got tired fast too (or maybe discouraged, from the disallowed goal). It was Altidore, Demerit, and Howard who played big. They certainly deserved that win though. It was so frustrating to watch though... I couldn't even jump out of my seat, I was feeling so numb...

Winnable game. Home field advantage may be tough but US could possibly win a 1-0 game.

This is going to be wild though....

The winner of USA/Ghana will get the winner of Korea/Uruguay......meaning that US has a realistic shot to make it to the final 4. Uruguay is undefeated though and are no slouch and we cannot look past Ghana but there is a chance of reaching the final 4 without facing Spain, Germany, Argentina, Holland, England, Italy, and Brazil. Amazing.

Haha. I am enjoying this world cup a lot. I hate the Italian team. They are another anti-football bunch.

+1

This makes me feel so much better about Slovenia not advancing.

Japan is amazing with these free kicks, executed to perfection. And why was Denmark's goalie on one side of the goal instead of the middle?

Italy should have lost the New Zealand game and this game was supposed to have 4 minutes of added time I shut it off after 6. I am so glad they're out. Guisseppe Rossi is probably kicking himself in the arse right now.

What's sad about italy is that for 15 minutes they played some really nice attacking football and created some awesome chances. I'm glad to see them go out but if they had a coach like Loew or Dunga who pushed them to be more fluid and free-floating offensively and a healthy Pirlo they'd be a joy to watch. Unfortunately Italy always plays for the 1-0 win.

Anyways I'm getting excited for Sunday, nothing like knocking England out of the cup to make a German ecstatic and I wish you guys luck, Ghana are the favorites and I think the US will have a very hard time cracking that Ghanian defense, but if Ghana keeps relying on 40 yard shots the US will be able to keep it close and if you can get that defense out of position you could even earn the right to get trounced by Uruguay in the quarters.
