Yelawolf has the best verse in the song. The other ones bore me.

You guys put me on to REKS. IDK if it is him, per say, or it is DJ PREMIER's instrumentals. Excited to listen to his album coming March 8th. What would you guys say is his best mixtape to date? Thanks.

OT: Should Ghostface destroy Wiz Khalifa?

Post#285 » by atribecalledrch » Fri Mar 4, 2011 12:52 am

Yea there was an allegedly fake Ghost blog) Ghost claimed he didn't write that) where someone wrote that Wiz's song "Roll Up" was gabbage which it is and he played the young people card and called Ghost corny. SO should Ghost say hmm lemme burn this niqqa real quick? I know beef is dumb now I'd love nothing more. Wiz Khalifa's plan was to become a pop star. Plain and simple. But he looks like a total clown on Rolling Stone wit his 70s Narc leather jackets, 1981 sleaze bag necklaces and 1987 blonde patches in his hair and his wackass songs. Let's take a look shall we?
Image
Now tell me how can he be a rookie when he's been rappin since 05 and J Cole has been since 07. And how could Cole not be rookie of the year. Doesn't realy make sense to argue since Rolling Stone sucks now ever since they shrinked their Mag size. Please ether this man Ghost.

Weirdly this has gotten me to digress into basketball. Times are changing. Where people are saying beef is dumb blah blah. That has translated into the league significantly not only with the superteams but with play in general. a sugar tap is a foul nowadays. Someone posted a youtube vid of NBA fights and it was tougher in the 80s and 90s and guys were getting fouled harder than they are now. The NBA really did get castrated.

I don't really like Wiz Khalifa but Yelawolf > J Cole. He should have been rookie of the year.

It makes sense because he has a number one single in the country which is a mega hit and a highly anticipate album. He's bigger than J.Cole, and that's what the "title" is about obviously.

I think Cole is wayyy better than Yelawolf. He seems wack to me. I saw him at the BET cypher and heard him on 2.0 boys and wasn't impressed.

Well tha'ts quite the sample size. J Cole is boring. He has like one good song (Problems). Other than that, he doesn't really make good songs. Just has some nice lines. Yelawolf on the other hand has a different personality, top notch flow, and makes good songs. He's real too. Not a phony. Not saying J Cole is a phony, just that it sticks out with Yelawolf. And most important it sounds like he's having fun. He doesn't take himself seriously as evidenced by his ballad of Ricky Bobby mixtape.

HATER! You act like if you had a chance to put out a hit record that would make you millions you would turn it down because you thought it was corny. People use the word "sell out" when someone put something out that is popular. Sure "Roll Up" is pop music but he does that to sell to more people, ie Girls.

He has some really good songs.

Homicide, On My Level, Real Estate, and Huey Newton are all sick songs just cause he tries to expand his rapping ability to connect with different groups u hate on him???

Yelawolf is terrible man. His lyrics suck. I guess anyone whose into southern rap would like him but its hollow music and his voice gives me the creeps. Hes defenitely a date raper. J.Cole actually has substance in his lyrics

LOL if I had the chance to drop a hit record I wouldn't do it until I had 4 guaranteed hits in my pocket thank you. Look at Lupe. Lupe HATES Lasers and he said that he had nothing to do with Show Goes On. He didn't even get to wrote all his lyrics the way he wanted. So let's compare: Lupe, a real hip hop artist and Wiz Khalifa, a dude who most likely sold out his soul and ass for fame. Huey Newton is wack. How Fly and Kush and OJ is the best he has to offer and if it wasn't for Curren$y How Fly would be trash. Wiz is just a wack Snoop Dogg now with no Gangsta lol.

Yeah you've never listened to Yelawolf because he does say things. J Cole's "depth" isn't anything new.

Nah Cole has more songs and his lyrics are on point. I consider him a NY rapper because he started rapping here so his major influences are from here so he's the hottest guy we got right now. FNL is a front to back mixtape. You can listen to it without pressing FF. He got lyrics that stick to your teeth like spinach. Like when he said "Im a old land mine, I've been waitin to blow up for a long damn time"

Yeah it sucked so much that it got him signed by Shady records.

I agree. Friday Night Lights has been one of the best mixtapes in recent years, imo.
