Well at least this BS will cool until after the game Sunday. The league won't encourage anything to go on that would deflect attention away from All-Star weekend. But come Sunday night/Monday morning when all hell should break loose once again.

One thing for sure is that Denver's leverage and creditability are at an all time low. Plus I believe it to be the consensus around the league's GM who conclude that DONNIE should just relax and wait until the summer for MELO. Quite a few unnamed GM's have recently expressed that opinion.

It is time for MELO to take one for his future team.

But there's more. Anthony has poured so much time and energy into making himself available to the Knicks, his chosen destination, that one source close to the talks believes Anthony will refuse to accept a summertime discount to play in Madison Square Garden in the event Donnie Walsh fails to deal before next Thursday's deadline.

"Melo has been the driving force behind this thing all along," the source said, "and you've got to give the kid credit. He's put himself way out there, and Denver finally engaged the Knicks and is willing to do a deal, a huge step forward.

"Melo wants to be a Knick, he's let everyone know that, and now the Knicks have to do their part. I still think it's 80-20 that he ends up in New York in a trade. But if Melo doesn't get traded, he's going to be very upset and I don't think he ever plays for the Knicks."

Walsh cannot let this moment and opportunity pass. If the Knicks don't land Anthony, they'll never land Chris Paul or Deron Williams in the summer of 2012.

From Ian O'Connor at ESPN..

totally agreed....melo has given NY now 7 months or so to get him, they gotta step up and get him b4 the deadline....too much riding on it

This is complete and total bull$hit. I'm gonna go ahead and ask you to stop trolling with this nonsense. How the hell has melo given the knicks 7 months when the nuggets wouldn't even engage us in talks. You are a troll for attempting to spread this bull$**** as if it was gospel. Denver has just now opened open conversations at the last minute hoping to pressure us into giving them what they want. There has been no 7 months. This is false. STOP TROLLING

NYMan15 mentioned Melo and Amar'e being together at ASW as an underrated factor. Good point. So is the possibility that the CBA talks progress some.

Can Trautwig be in the deal anyway, or does it mean the Knicks have to take back Free Candy?

The article yesterday with that same exact quote mentioned that Donnie said that followed by a laugh. Just writers twisting quotes to fit whatever agenda they're going for. :-?

Oh, okay. That is kind of out of character for Donnie to be so pissy about ish. :D

Reports have surfaced that the Nuggets and Nets are talking again about a trade to send Carmelo Anthony to New Jersey.

But a source with knowledge of the situation tells Alan Hahn of Newsday that the Nets reemergence is not genuine.

"The Nets are out," the source said.

Hahn writes that the Knicks are not confident that Denver actually knows what it wants from a deal for Anthony and offers his opinion that it is "amateur hour" in the Nuggets' front office.

That is the best word to describe denver's FO! They leak false rumors to drive prices up, they offer absurd deals that no one in there right mind accept, they spend all there time trying to deal with teams that melo would have no interest in signing with...seems like amateur hour to me!

I really just wish Melo leaves and signs with another team even if not with the Knicks just so Ujiri feels like a dumbass.

I play board games off and on as a hobby, and you know what, when I play these gamers, they players are more real than what Ujiri is acting. The talk here, you see regarding this, would be said AS A JOKE by players, with everyone not knowing it is serious.

Not even sure the 2K fantasy commissioner office would allow what is discussed from the Denver side to happen.

On a side note, I used to think it was "Everyone loves Raymond". I read the latest wiretap and it looks like "Denver loves everyone with Raymond".

Just as an aside note, I don't mind reading people venting over this whole ordeal. But, the barrage of trade proposals from the ESPN trade checker is just an eyesore.
