Call up Pat the Rat and offer a Amare for Bosh swap. Makes too much sense. Bosh is smarter, better defensively, better rebounder, etc. Both are not in the right situation and change of scenery may be best. Melo + Bosh is a much better fit.

i'd do it, but miami won't. really, carmelo + bosh makes a lot of sense and lebron + amare makes a lot of sense. half court versus full court. i don't even love bosh because he also doesn't have a post game (although, he will occasionally post up) but he is a better shooter, smarter, better defender, and better face up player and dribbler. plus he's left handed and younger. would make wayyyyy more sense next to carmelo.

if we're going to trade amare, it'll have to be for smaller fish. scola and bargnani should be the targets.

Yes we should trade Amare but not for Bosh. IMO that trade would be a lateral move for us but I think would improve Miami. I would try to pry Pau away from LA. He would mesh much better with Melo as he is used to playing with a dominant wing player (Kobe).

You have to throw Chandler in there as well... he can't shoot so defenses can collapse and clog the paint.

If we had a good playmaking PG you could make Amare+Melo work.... but you add Chandler and that's when the parts really don't fit... which is why I said from the first day we acquired Chandler and not a good playmaking PG that the team would have trouble scoring... from day 1 I said that and guys bashed me... In the end the parts just don't fit sadly... but I'll still root the team on.

Wow, this thread is still going strong. Amare does suck without a legit point guard though. He's painful to watch lately. Not a superstar by a long shot, but no longer a star with a real pick n roll to work with. He's clueless out there. He really doesn't understand the game of basketball. It is getting embarrassing. What a waste of salary cap. Ugh.

it is about FIT. bargnani is no superstar . . . but neither is amare stoudemire on this line up. think about carmelo's game. what type of player do you want to put next to him? who would thrive next to him? really think about it.

an outside/inside power forward is the correct answer. someone who would feast off of carmelo drawing double teams in the post. someone who some possessions would go into the post himself and allow carmelo to feast off of the double teams he draws. someone who could provide post play when carmelo isn't on the floor. bargnani has his flaws when it comes to other things . . . defense, rebounding, passing . .. but really they're no worse than amare's. but the fit would be too good to pass up.

Watching Lee right now; looks like a much better player. Gets the ball on the pick and roll and stops on a dime and swings it to the weak side whereas Amare would charge into his man or throw up some twisting BS lay-up.

Hopefully Amare eventually realizes that his athleticism is gone and that he has to rely on his skill.

This team is very poorly constructed. To think Melo is our only real post up player is pretty disturbing. We don't have a classic power forward which is necessary in this set up with a traditional defensive C and a ball dominant scorer in Melo. Stat will only survive this if Baron thrives, but that is almost two months away. Stat is in danger of losing his confidence by then and could be a shell of his best version of himself. Its a shame he can't utilitize his physical gifts better, but he's clearly a big dummy out there.

Amare's trade value is absolutely nothing right now. Teams are going to view him as a bad contract until he gets his act together.
