Agreed I loved it, but I'm a comic nerd. Wifey was angry at the ending and all the new moving parts. She never watched any of the G.O.G. movies and felt confused and in the dark for long stretches because of that.

Oh, I am too. Admittedly, I'm a bigger DC fan, but with Midtown Comics right near me, I'm going to expand into Marvel a bit. Gonna get some trades and read some of the bigger ones first. I'm still reading DC - Doomsday Clock is fantastic.

Actually, any good stories to read? I'm definitely going to read the Infinity War arc and Civil War, but anything else?

Totally agree with this. Thanos was too soft. Started out like a bad mofo tho in the beginning (the way I always knew him)... but downhill from there.

That’s not true , man. Dude went through the avengers at the end like if they they were nothing. His only ‘soft’ moment was
Spoiler:
when he hesitated to kill Gators. But he still threw her off the edge of the mountain.

Didnt Thanos fall in love with death in the comics?

I’m talking emotionally soft....

Spoiler:
Dude wasn’t even fazed when Gamora kept trying to kill him 100 times. He kept up with the “you’re my daughter” stuff when she’s not even his daughter... dude straight up kidnapped her from her mother lol. Then he’s crying when he kills her?

The dude was a evil bastard from what I remember looking at my uncle’s comics as a kid. And yea, he was in love with the female embodiment of Death...and killed his kids for her I think. He was evil and ruthless... not soft. They just made him too human imo.

It’s got a 84% on Rotten Tomatoes, 68% on Metacritic (Metascore) and 8.7 (user score)... so I’m def not the only one who thought it was good, but not great. There’s a few other things I didn’t like either, but I guess after waiting like 20 years for this to be brought to life, I should’ve known my expectations would probably be too high for them to reach.

you're going to bring up critic scores all the while complaining about the antagonist actually having character development? really?

he was a straight up malevolent psychopath who ran through anything and everything to accomplish his goal. there was nothing soft about him.

They threw me off by killing to opposite of who was supposed to die. I'm thinking everyone that died from the gauntlet will come back and everyone alive will die.

Spoiler:
Ding ding ding, we have a winner!!!

Avengers 4 will be a more focused, last hoorah movie as they pass the mantle to the new Avengers who will return from “ash”.

Spoiler:
Its perfect. Like if we're gonna get rid of these characters let's give them a whole movie as a last hurrah. Cap, Tony, Nat, Bruce, etc. are gonna kill it. Okoye still living threw me off though because I didn't think they'd kill her off but I'm guessing she bites the dust in part 2.

Yeah I didn't see part 2 until yesterday when someone warned me its pretty damn important. Makes sense tho with Gamora being the closest to Thanos in the universe.

Critics can say whatever they want to say. Didnt the Black Panther movie have like 99% at one point?
At the end of the day , its about if you enjoyed the movie or not. And Infinity War is the one I persoanlly enjoyed more then the other ones. I mean, to think about these comic books as a kid and seeing them on the big screen in this fashion is awesome. Nothing is ever percect but Marvel delivered in this movie.

Spoiler:
You and the other spaz gotta relax lol. I can’t even say I didn’t like how they portrayed a ruthless psychopath in the comics by making him show too much emotion in the movie.

I already mentioned a few cases, not just the crying. The emotion and care he showed when he first stole her (when he could’ve just maybe spared her mom if he cared so much) then sparing her again and again when she tried to kill him. Then crying. Then going to the other realm with her at the end as a kid again and looking like he felt guilty/sad, watching a sunset?, sparing certain heroes because he liked them, etc etc... that’s cool n all, but that’s not Thanos.
