I don't get how we don't have the assets. DSJ, Knox, Robinson, 2019 first that will be a top 5 pick is better than what the Lakers have to offer IMO

I sort of understand AD wanting to go to LA. Historic successful franchise, playing with the best player in the world and his idol. But they are 8 years apart in age. Lebron can't play forever, but I guess AD wants that ring and if he goes there, he has a great chance at one.

Very good news.

How about this --

This year's pick, DSj, both Mavs picks, Knicks 2021 unprotected.

AD extends on the trade. They include Jrue.

Keep Knox and Mitch and just give them a boatload of picks. If they want Dotson, maybe you do that but that's it. No Frank either.

why keep mitch

I'll give them knox and DSJ (who probably have more value anyway) than Frank and Mitch because Frank, Mitch, Dot fit perfectly with Kyrie, KD, and AD.

But AD is def going to LA now. LA isn't going to risk a knicks bidding war in the offseason if that pick is high enough where NOP wants our deal of lakers deal.

They gunna get AD. 2nd half gunna be Brazy!!!!!!

this is fine. This would clear a path for KD and Kyrie to the knicks. LA is going to have to take on a bad contract to get AD as well. I'm thinking 3 team deal with Lonzo going to PHX picks and young pieces going to NOP and AD and contracts going back to AD.

BOS only way to keep Kyrie happy was to get AD and now that isn't a reality we probably our his next choice assuming KD and Kyrie are planning on teaming up and we are the only team that can make that happen.

If Lakers take the bad contracts, I’ll be fine with it.
If Lakers maintain a max spot after this...that’s trouble

NYK is on the list of teams he wants to sign with. Clear as day knicks getting someone. So its the worst kept secret.

Woj is ass backwards. How will it open up more stronger offers if Teams know the uncertainty is there that he WON’T sign an extension until 2020. The risk being it might not be with your Team if he AGAIN does like what he’s seeing and wants out. :nonono:

Teams will NOT give many valuable assets knowing that. Just look at how little the Sours got for Kawhi, arguably the greatest 2-way player in the Game.

We should NOT bid against ourselves, we all know Woj is a biased journalist who hates NY.

—Mags

i was confused about that too. the tweet before it says the list is teams he'll commit to signing long term with. financially it makes sense to wait the year so that was probably always gonna happen. not sure why the offers are gonna be stronger with that info.

I read it just as improving offers because there are bidders who he'll eventually sign with. More people to bid against. But just because a guy says something now does not mean it will hold up.

Dwight changed his mind.

it sounds like the lakers are now ok with taking bad deals like solomon hill for example now. We aren't willing to do that.

This is Melo and the Nets all over again. How does LA have the assets and we don't? Ingram is not top pick good.

If AD resigns upon trade to the Knicks then I'm down with trading assets for him but if he wants to wait to opt out and test the market the Knicks can't risk that asset haul it would take to get him to only leave.

I can see why the Knicks would be less likely after the trade of KP because he would be a major asset to build a trade around that supposedly they turned down anyway but without him it's lots of smaller less attractive and unknown assets.

If AD would be traded to the Knicks and be playing the rest of the season he'd ruin the tank for sure so I have no problem including this year's pick top 2 or 3 protected but again only if he resigns once traded, no waiting.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Plain & simple, this is Wojo again trying to tilt the scales. He is telling NOP what they should and shouldn't want.

LA has a grab bag offer. Not bad but nothing that stands out as a top asset.

Only Tatum is a top asset and he's not available and AD doesn't want to go there.

They just like to say this because it’s us. It’s a new day.
If we want him bad enough we have the assets.

The plan is for him to sit out the season but he says he feels bouncy and is ready to get back on the court? That's the longest ACL rehab of all time. Something feels off about that.

Let’s be honest here.
Kuzma > Knox
Ingram > Frank
Ball > DSJr

The only asset we’d be able to sell them on is Zion, but we can’t guarantee him right now because of the 14%. Also, if we get AD now...who knows where our record will end.

If I were the Pelicans I would have taken the Porzingis plus the pick deal for AD over anything the Lakers can offer

Sounds like the Pelicans are willing to take less talent if the Lakers take back a bad contract or two which makes no sense for a rebuilding team. You’re not signing any big time fa’s

How is salary relief a high priority for the Pels? They're under the cap next year. They only have ONE contract of any size that extends beyond next season -- Jrue.
