He almost couldn't miss t at the Combine. 75% or better in the stationary and off motion 3 ball drills. 94% on the 100 FT drill.

I can envision him killing it off the curl, DHO and spotting up. He'll l get even better as he improves his handle. As it stand his intangibles are great; highly motivated good character kid . Word is that Coach Cal had to kick him out of the gym repeatedly.

Also, he has a good floater, so expect him to get into the paint when the spacing is favorable.

This. "A reach" is short for "but the mocks (which are always wrong) had him lower."
This kid has nice potential and the shooting is already there. This is not another guard we are "hoping becomes a better shooter."

I don't have a problem with us reaching to secure our pick. We've missed out on so many picks where our targets get drafted a spot or two before us. I like what I see with Quickley so far and he fills the need we have for shooting.

The game video shows IQ has a pretty refined sense of how much daylight he needs to get off a clean shot. Many times in those clips he sidesteps on the perimeter or goes past a defender when they get up in his face and puts up a shot that is just out of reach of the contesting defender.

That's a good kinesthetic sense of space and court awareness. He knows how to adjust on the fly and he maintains shooting form off the dribble or when releasing off-balance. Combined with his shooting touch that could make him a walking bucket.

Be plays defense and shoots 3s well. Not gonna get much better than that from a secound rounder.

Except he wasn’t a 2nd rounder.

LOVE this pick. Give me someone that can shoot and play great defence and I will take that all day long. This is what the organization needs to concentrate on in the future. It never ceases to amaze me how many times teams will draft guys who can't shoot worth **** thinking they will improve that part of their game. It can happen but very rarely. Why not select a guy who is actually a terrific shooter to begin with. Makes too much sense. Great pick!

I like him but we should have drafted Malachi Flynn.

Immanuel Quickley opens up about Knicks hopes, Kentucky adversity.

Q: You’ve been compared to John Wall and Jamal Murray.

A: I feel like I’m my own player. I feel like I’m a point guard, can play off the ball, on the ball, can shoot it, can defend, create for teammates. I feel like I’m just a versatile player. CJ McCollum is somebody who can do both, can create for his teammates, floaters in the lane, that’s somebody who I look at a lot.

Q: What do you think of fellow first-rounder and new teammate Obi Toppin?

A: From what I can tell he’s really competitive. He texted me and said, “Let’s turn this around,” like the day after the draft, so I can tell he’s really competitive and wants to win.

Q: RJ Barrett?

A: I had six Canadian players on my high school team, and then also I’m really close with [former Kentucky teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander], so I know him through him as well. Played against him on the USA-19 team, he had like 40 points or something like that. He’s a really good player, competitive and he was on my McDonald’s All-American team as well.

Q: Mitchell Robinson?

A: Really athletic, can catch lobs from anywhere, defend, can rebound, I’m sure there’s other parts to his game I don’t even know about that he’s probably really good at as well. (cue the rim runner talk  )

I already liked the kid and think he's going to do well. This interview certainly cements that feeling

That's the gest you can hope for with late first round picks. Rotational guy and if he is a starter, even better. Not looking for an all-star, I'm looking for him to give us minutes.

Quickley is a 6'3" SG. At least Dotson was 6'5".
