This is wild to me

Nah they got a guy who can help get shot creation and is a huge upgrade from payton

Evan Fournier can create his own shot, I’m not throwing a parade for that & Payton is a bum, anything over him is a huge upgrade.

I’ll say one positive tho, his contract is cheap.

Look I just said a positive thing!

Whatever, all this sh*t is shortsighted and we shoulda tanked so Im just here to laugh, y’all can go crazy over this tho.

Damn, some of you guys acting like we traded a pick to OKC and took on Kemba's whole contract (or some of you have serious boners for Elfrid). We're paying a former all star point guard 8 mill to soak up 20ish minutes at PG in tandem with Derrick Rose and replacing Elfrid. We don't need Kemba to be prime Kemba for this deal to be a win.

Totally came out of left field but finally a legit low risk high reward move. I was worried about rose starting after the $ they gave him so this is perfect. We're now deep enough where kemba's usage doesn't have to be crazy high either. Love it.

This tweet is further proof we didn't need to give Noel 10 mil a year, we could've just brought back Taj.

It's better this way. If we didn't give Noel 10 mill, we prob would've given Kemba like 18 mill

I lurked and posted here back in the Marbury and Isiah years and I don't remember seeing as many negative people as right now. Maybe it's due to Covid? But man, some of you are just miserable! Can't be healthy to invest so much into something that clearly doesn't bring you any joy!

With Kemba, I'm pretty fine with the offseason now

But I'm getting big "they're saying us and Golden State are the superteams" energy from stuff like that SportsCenter tweet.

F the Superteams.

Honestly and this is no exaggeration, I'd MUCH MUCH MUCH rather have our existing squad than those douchenozzles in Brooklyn. IDC how many 'chips they may or may not get.

Kemba, D-Rose, Taj and Thibs? RJ, IQ and Mitch? Cornrow Randle? Fournier & Burks? Very rootable team. Hell, I even really like Grimes & McBride riding the pine. Hope they keep it together a couple seasons.

Such a lame post. Kemba can just walk into MSG and suit up? This was behind the scenes money management, come on Bro let's be intelligent.

Yet he still averaged about 20 ppg while sharing offensive duties with Tatum and Brown. There’s no way to negatively spin this move for how much we’re paying him

Haterade has to live up to his name. He's doing that just fine, now.

Thanks but I'm just being real and tapering expectations. Don't get me wrong with how much he's coming for and what he brings its an A+ move, probably the Knicks best move in the offseason. I'm just worried about his knees and Rose's knees. Way better than bringing in Schroeder, Nunn, or anything like that.

Always love the tank crowd

Do you think Cade is winning a title with the pistons

Green with Houston

Mobley with Cleveland

Suggs with orlando

Durant had to go to a 73 win team to win one

Lebron had to go miami to win one

Luka can't get past rd 1. Top 5 player

And so on

Is this team winning one..no

But none of those prospects was going to win one either here

Indeed. Maybe Knicks got wind of possible buyout, did a little research, saw the wings available, and went for Fournier with strong indication that the buyout would happen. Maybe backchannel talks with OKC, and even the pick swap of 32 for 34 and 36 kind of a handshake in the process.

Lets add that Kemba is a great guy and great teammate. Not going to be sulking like Payton if Rose is having a better game than him.

We just got better from next year and that’s if all of our kids remain the same.

Imagine if RJ, IQ, Obi, Mitch or even Randle take another leap :o

Didn't read the previous pages but where's IQ fit in a Kemba/Rose/Fournier/Burks backcourt?

Well alrighty then! All of my complaints and bytching about the worst off season ever...worked. They listened and went out and got a stop gap PG to keep Rose with the bench. I'm a problem solver. That's what I do. I'll await all of your thanks payable in and1s TIA!!

His health is only an issue the last two seasons. Mainly last season. His career...(besides shortened 2019 Covid shut down...we played what? 61 games? He played in 56 games that year.)... Last year he missed 30 games and then went down in the playoffs. Other than that..he missed 20 games in 2011 and 16 games in like 2014. So...if he can work his way back from last season...we are good. He doesn't need to play more than 20-24 mpg. Same with Rose. Risk/reward is a good payoff here. Where does this leave us as far as cap space? What deal is being reported?

What needs to be mentioned...for all of you treadmill team afficiandos...is that the kids just got buried on the bench. So...while we chase meaningless playoff runs...we are not playing the kids we draft. IQ just lost minutes. Vildoza/Deuce/Grimes will not play. Rokas is officially not coming over to stay. Why would he?

It appears they are angling towards trading for a star. Any trade will not be for the vets we just signed. Teams will want IQ/RJ/Mitch/etc plus all of our picks in any trades. We will only have ammo for ONE big trade. So find a star that will make this team of vets...a contender. Then look at the window for success with the age of the team. That's what the complaints are about. Going vet led for playoffs and not really contending either. So the draft is fugazi.

Kemba/Rose/Deuce
Fournier/Burks/IQ/Grimes
RJ/Knox
Randle/Obi
Mitch/Noel/Taj

Who's missing? We still have a roster spot? I know we will have to wait and see but...anyone here thinking the kids are gonna be priority...no. RJ/Mitch are the only kids getting meaningful minutes. How's that for player development?

15 deep...in bench players.

They did upgrade two biggest holes though. Should be an interesting season at least. We did get better offensively. Defense taking a hit.

Maybe they have other moves they will make if I bitch and complain enough!!! 8-)

2010 wrote:Another thing. I actually like the fact that Rose, Kemba, Fournier, Noel, Robinson, etc are not the most durable. Maybe even brittle. Cuz it ensures at some point the kids will get legitimate chances to make the rotation and also, at worst if the perfect storm hits, we'd still have a shot at ending up in the lottery despite not having any intentions to tank. Which could end up as a blessing in disguise.

Long story short, we are in solid shape either way.

This could either go really well with Kemba having a resurgent year like Rose did last year or the wheels could fall off really quickly. Which is exactly how I felt about last year. I was really stoked to make the playoffs but if things fell apart and we ended up in the lottery, that be cool too. I'm a little more optimistic that we won't get too banged up cuz the way the schedule was last year was insanely brutal with games happening every other day. This season should have more time off in-between games.
