It’s possible that Dadiet just flat out sucks, at least right now. His GLeague numbers look terrible, which indicate he’s just not that good right now. And I mean even for a backup role.

Kolek is just ok but he’s not some major upgrade over Payne. You can say he might not be better than him at all right now. Huk is a defender, don’t think he has much of an offensive game.

I think the FO expected more from guys like Payne, Shamet and Achiuwa. These are the guys you want to take a look at first when you are a win now team. Yes they have sucked but these are the guys that were brought in to help and it doesn’t always work out. Teams bring guys in and it doesn’t work, that happens. But you don’t blame the coach for giving them a chance. These guys are journeymen for a reason

Obi played 11 mpg his rookie year, with only 2 games over 20 minutes, what is this revisionist history?

that's in the rotation.

i'd love to see the kids play. there's probably benefit to both soaking up minutes and getting some experience. but i also don't think it's the end of the world if that's not how the minutes are used right now, especially given we're in the first half of a first season with a new group with major pieces to incorporate.

Yup. Our opponents have been putting in reinforcements and blitz/running in the second half. That's the counter.

Last 4 games we've run an 8-man rotation (exception being the Bulls game where Thibs did sub out with a minute and a half left because we were getting blown out) and we're 1-3. Are they really that bad that they'd make us worse than that?

Worst case scenario is they suck and we win a few less games but get to the postseason a little healthier. Best case scenario is they're good enough to be net neutral players and we win the same amount or more games and still get to the postseason relatively healthier than not playing them

It's a low risk, medium reward move. I don't expect Pac and Kolek to be All Stars, but we have no idea if they're good or not, and if the coaching staff/FO thinks they're not, then that's an indictment on them for drafting them.

Because Thibs rotation is only meant for players that can sustain or build leads. The first thing you have to be able to do to play for him is defend. So immediately Tyler isn’t seen as a viable option. It isn’t like Thibs has never used rookies in his rotations before but they have to be able to defend. The only person I’m confused about not playing is Huk maybe there’s some politics behind the scenes with that decision but every other player not in rotation is just not a Thibs guy.

Who drafts an almost 24 year small point guard with athletic limitations if they want him to be a defender? And why did we have a starting lineup of Brunson, DDV, RJ, Randle and Sims last December if being a good defender was a requirement?

I think the worst part is, the Thibs stans will never admit they were wrong

Cause like with Deuce right, for years it was clear he needed more minutes and was a positive player, but these people would fight tooth and nail anyone who said that, because how dare you question Thibs' wisdom? And then when injuries hit and he was forced to play Deuce and obviously Deuce was good, all of a sudden it was all his plan to bring him along, and Thibs was just developing him from the bench blah blah blah

It's the same thing bad anime/wrestling do like the "It was me, Austin! It was me all along!" style of writing backwards to retcon stuff

So the same people screeching about how much the bench players suck and shouldn't play will claim victory no matter how good or bad they are. "Heads I win, tails you lose" type of stuff

Defending an 8 man rotation in January. Actual insanity.

What a load of crap. I wanted Deuce in the draft, him and Grimes. Was happy we got both. Didn’t whine or complain because they weren’t in the rotation early on, just knew if they were any good their time would eventually come and it did.

It’s the same Stinkilikina fans that whine and complain year after year after year how some youth is being held back and rotation and minutes and this and that when in reality there isn’t one player that we drafted that was actually held back by Thibs. But the crying and whining doesn’t stop

I also just like, want to point out the irony in saying we can't play anyone on the bench because they suck in the postgame thread of a loss to a team who's missing 4 out of 5 of their starters as well as a bench player and still went deeper into their bench than we did.

They started Caleb Houstan.

As his number one hater due to BAF, and screw that worthless no production perimeter drifting bum forever, I can comfortably affirm that dude **** sucks as an NBA player. And they won.

It's also hilarious than you can go back 12 years and find articles from the Bulls and it sounds exactly the same as now.

The fact Portland had that kind of success shouldn't come as that much of a surprise though, given how much the Bulls have struggled the last few weeks. Their offense isn't moving well, and their defense -- even with Kirk Hinrich and Taj Gibson back in the lineup -- looks as if it's starting to break.

The bigger issue for the Bulls is that they don't seem quite sure how to fix their own problems right now. When asked what needs to change, Noah didn't hesitate.

"I don't know," Noah said.

At this point in the season, the answer appears to be a combination of different things. The minutes racked up by the starters and the problems with injuries appear to have taken their toll.

It's the same with the Wolves, it all sounds exactly the same as now with different names.

Worse, it was another Thibodeau season marked by star injury, as LaVine suffered a torn ACL during a Feb. 3 matchup against the Detroit Pistons and continued laboring on it for six minutes of game action before trainers shut him down. Until LaVine's knee ligament snapped, he had covered more ground per game than any player in the NBA, averaging 2.69 miles a night. That wasn't all: Wiggins and Towns were the only two players in the entire NBA who played over 3,000 minutes last season.

LaVine played with a torn ACL for 6 minutes before he was pulled  Remember Mitch breaking his ankle against the Celtics and coming back out for the 2nd half before he was finally pulled?

You know you won a debate when Frank's name comes up. That's like last resort baiting because god forbid a prospect doesn't work out like that has never happened before. Like 5 years ago...lol

In the end we still win because the point of that argument was that Elfrid Payton was terrible and that he would get exposed in the post season for his lack of shooting and overrated defense and low and behold Thibs pulled the plug in game 1 of the playoffs way too late and we couldn't recover. Should have happened months before so the team could adjust to new lineups.

But like always Thibs is extremely stubborn and late to adjust.
