Chucking 3s is now the norm, even in the video games. I hate it some times. People taking ugly, most times contested outside shots is accepted. What ever happened to playing smart basketball?

Honestly, I hate this style of offense. Started watching b-ball during the late 80's where inside scoring is prevalent. Yeah, the 3-shot gives the most points per shot alright but if the shots are not falling, why insist?

Just because the inside game has become neglected doesn't mean it won't come back. This trend has swung so far to the perimeter it is bound to be exploited by an up and coming team. Small ball may be the bread and butter of GS and when they execute they are awfully good, BUT it is also a strangely non-competitive league they are playing against. I wouldn't assume GS would stand a chance against the great 80s teams. I think they would get waxed by vintage Celtics or Lakers teams.

Triangle offense making a comeback!!!

3pt shots are ok. Passing up open opportunities and mismatches for a heave-ho is not OK.

This series more than anything demonstrated how important guys who can create their own shot is. 3 and D players are great, and super valuable. But come playoff time defenses tighten and those shots aren't coming off as easy. Need a good mix of both types of players.

to be fair, there's nobody on that bench. next man up is ryan anderson.

So now do you go to the Rockets and offer them Noah and LT for Anderson and a future draft pick? The Chris Paul window is closing, Houston could use a veteran 3-D player or two right now.

noah and lance doesn't help them. maybe lee does. another shooter. decent defense. is it worth it for us though ? not unless that pick is in the future.

Their pick is going to be 27 or later. I think we can get a better pick in a salary dump where we move Lee.

You mean to tell me the Warriors were taking good shots? Those boys have been chucking and ducking for years now up in GS, the difference is they got shot makers who show up during big games. You're trying to think everything can be an adjustment and the coach is always to blame, Kerr lets his guys jack up crazy shots all the time. What adjustment did Kerr make exactly? Their defense was trash in that 2nd half leaving all those dudes wide open like that, it was suicide. Lucky for them Dantoni's team choked

Mike’s answer to it all was Ryan Anderson...

Yep

Who else they got?

No one because Mike never developed that throughout the year.

Anderson was hardly playing if at all and to just throw him out there was dumb.

If he was smart, he'd take the MLE or minimum for a year and re-build his rep with them. Knowing Melo, he's opting into that 25 million and I don't blame him.
Brooklyn Nets
Damian Lillard - Rajon Rondo - Trey Burke
Victor Oladipo - Wes Matthews - Javon Carter
Caris LeVert - Derrick Jones Jr. - Glenn Robinson III
Andre Igoudala - Killian Tillie - Trey Lyles
Joel Embiid - Taj Gibson - Kevon Looney

Anderson wasn't the reason they lost. Their lead went from 11 to 3 in that 3rd quarter before Anderson came into the game. The reason they lost was because of the starters

Being ran into the ground throughout the year. You can’t win this argument. Everyone knows Mike has short rotations. It has ALWAYS come back to bite him in the ass.

He doesn't have 1 player in the top 10 in minutes played per game. James Harden is ranked 13th in the league in minutes per game. Ariza is 23rd. CP3 is 45th.

So that's only 3 players in the top 50 in minutes per game. Then you got Eric Gordon who is 58th. PJ Tucker is 80th. Capela is 85th.

Where is this proof that he's running his guys into the ground?

Compare that to the Warriors who have Klay Thompson 15th, KD 16th, Draymond 26th, Curry 41st

The Rockets didn't really make the Warriors work on defense. No cuts, off-ball screens, curls, pindowns, nothing....

Mike doesn’t truly have variety in his offense. It’s the fast break, secondary break, his P&R and then iso Harden. Paul truly does help run things. Just like Nash.

That's the curse of D'Antoni. He gives the keys to Harden and then yells Leggo, Leggo, Leggo in the huddle. He's a coach defined more by the level of the players he has than he is by his coaching ability.

Mike has been dining out on 7 Seconds or Less for close to two decades now. Whatever ideas he once had have been modified and any good coach can outcoach him if they have their own horses too.
