No. It might have been "embarrassing" when that happened but let's be real when he came back into the lineup & Linsanity exploded that's when the media, fans, etc were vultures on Melo, wondering how he would fit, criticizing him with any given chance. It didn't reach a major level until Linsanity came out in full force.
As far as him saying that quote in Knicks fans eyes that's another strike against him, he's reaching A-Rod status & I understand the anger, but as someone who believes players should be more blunt and say how they really feel when asked a question I don't have a problem with it.
