They are being encouraged to do this. So if we not going to run the offense, what the **** is the point in having dude?
Personally,.. and this is the first anti Phil thing I have said. Phil, you need to ditch the idea of someone being you. Just because you could coached someone to run the triple post offense dont mean, they will be a good coach running the triple post.
Tex taught you the triple post, but it was your ability to manage people though your studies of zen, meditation and personality, along with your mind for the game. The offense isnt what made you.
And just because you built the team, it dont mean the offense will make them. Im sorry to say this, but its the truth. None of your copy cat proteges have been successful. I dont know of any of your former assistants that have been successful. Kerr was not one of them. You wanted him, he didnt want you and the rest is history.
So even if you chose one of your old assistants, to properly run the offense, it dont mean it will work. Honestly, this team looks fine without it. When we try to run it, Lopez, your worst offensive player, gets the best looks! We need more screen plays. More running. Really, the problem is in the management of in game situations and the roster more than anything.
Ditch the idea. Let your ego go. You not a coach no more and you have left no great successor. Because no one is you. Let a real coach, coach this team the way he wants to do it. Not the way you want. And let that man show proof of your ability to put a team together. Because you've done a real good job building a roster. But this Fisher is killing it. This team is better than this and shows it every single game until the coach decides to pretend to be you, with what he thinks are witty decisions. He's making you look bad.
I personally subscribe to this to some degree. While it has definitely increased ball movement, there are many other ways to do that and, on too many possessions, we look like we are running in mud. Either the team needs to actually commit to it or ditch it. No half measures.
