I really hate this trade, and I hope that we can use those seconds in a future trade to get some value. Those three games where Willy played good will always be in my memory.

If you think this is a good trade then more power to you.

Here's a news flash, though: Monk sucks and so does this trade

You took a 2nd rounder and developed him into a player, something worth more than a 2nd now - a late first or another young player. Instead you trade him for two more 2nds so you can draft another Cleanthony Early and Slavko Vranes. Do you know how difficult it is to find a player in the 2nd round and have him become valuable? This is an awful trade in all aspects. We got ZERO return on a prospect we developed.

Monk sucking right now doesn't mean WHG nets anything close to that type of player, a highly touted rookie in the middle of his rookie season. I don't think this is a good trade or a bad trade. WHG has gone from underrated to overrated. I'm not going to celebrate the deal or say it's the worst thing ever like I am sure some posters will do. WHG is an absolutely atrocious defender and he's been overrated by this board to the point where people were actually expecting a first round pick for him.

The 2nds can also be used in trades. People wanted picks, we have a lot of picks now. And our drafting has actually been a strong point. It's a minor deal, let's not make it out to be a major one.

People wanted 1st round picks.

2nd round picks are useless. They are thrown around the league like candy. And as I mentioned earlier, there's a reason for that. Having an abundance of them isn't something to brag about.

This trade sucks all around. WHG not being a good defender has nothing to do with this trade not being bad.

People as in fans? Obviously we want first rounders for all of our "assets." But do you honestly believe a player like WHG would fetch a first? I never thought he was going to fetch that.

2nd round picks are not useless given the names I've mentioned over the past 5 years who were taken in the 2nd round. Plus they can be used in trades. Absolutely not useless.

No trade involving a mediocre player such as WHG can be deemed as sucking all around.

His atrocious defense was just an example of his less than stellar value around the league. I thought at most we would get one 2nd for him. Surprised we got two.

Hahn is an MSG schill. Dude is embarrassing now with how he praises the organization since being hired by them. No more objectivity.

He’s got nothing on Wally. That guy is the biggest homer I’ve ever heard

Fields, Shumpert, Frye, Gallo, Nate...Knick fans have a tendency to slightly overrated their own prospects. I'm surprised we got two 2nds for Willy. Hilarious some expected a first, let alone Monk.

Dude is still going on about this.

You have no idea what maximizing assets means, do you?

This is not the same case as the other players you mentioned at all. Nearly everyone here acknowledges what Willy is.

The only hilarious thing is you schilling for this trade and then pretending that you're not.

All those teams that were "interested" in him, this was likely the best offer we received for him

SO U DON'T TRADE HIM!!!!!!!!

trade KOQ sorry ass for 1 second rounder like Zeller got...and move on..

Lets WHG start the rest of the year to build his value back up...we just sold completely low...

No, you trade him before he loses more value by actually playing because he sucks. Dude will be out of the league by the time we come to collect our 2021 2nd rounder from Charlotte.

When he's on deal 2 I don't want to hear it.

Ferguson and expirings for Lee and O'quinn will make me happy. We would basically be getting a first round pick for 2 guys that don't fit our rebuild timeline.

HEZI once had Eddy Curry dominating the league. I'll choose to believe Willy will still be in the league by 2021.

might be the only way to get a top 5 pick with all the bad teams this year; have already won too many games that it might be too late to get higher than there 9th worst record
They can probably get up to 6-7. This team without KP and trading some Lee and KOQ is worse than the Nets and Lakers and they don't have their picks so they should be trying to win.

I'd be very happy to end up 6-7 because the chances of moving up are solid and this draft is deep anyways

yeah I have a feeling this is it...perry will take calls and not find anything he likes and he thinks he did his job by clearing the center glut by trading the easiest player to trade on the roster due to his team friendly contract and age.

"Asset collection engaged" as we trade one asset for an inferior return. Just keep Willy if that's the best you can do. The FO also likely sees Kanter as the long-term answer at the 5, we're going to re-sign him once his deal is up and pay $80m to a guy we won't be able to play in the playoffs - if we ever get there again.
