Give Kawhi the full max

It’s gonna back up RJ but maybe he could start at the point? But signing a second star for 2 years will mean he doesn’t need to have all the pressure on him

This is my backup dream. Though I'd have Knox at backup 3 and 4 and Barrett as backup 2\3. And honestly, figured that one of Frank or DSJr is out, so Trier would backup PG, and then find some minutes long 2 and 3 as well

Talk about bringing back the 90s. For 2 or 3 unprotected firsts, I’d consider it.

i think you're looking at that wrong.

While the Knicks have an opportunity to acquire a major free agent or two in July, they maintain they will be patient to make the right move or no move at all. Mills said Knicks ownership is committed to a patient build with no pressure to sign free agents.

“Our plan wasn’t to create $70 million in room to go after free agents this summer,” Mills said. “Our plan was to organically build this team through teamwork, drafting well, getting high-character guys that want to compete. The [salary cap] space was a byproduct of that. If the right guys are there for us, great, because we still have all the young pieces and draft picks to move forward.

“And if they’re not, we’re going to keep building our plan, drafting our guys, playing well and potentially being trade partners. We feel really good about where we are going.”

Eric Gordon is a baller, physical, shoots the 3, low-key better than most FAs. I think he’d fit well with our kids. Gives them spacing, and puts us in a better position to at least compete. For an unprotected first (going our way) I’d do it.

How much longer will people continue to portray the circumstances of KP getting traded as ONLY to sign FAs and if they don't do it this summer it's a failure and the trade should be criticized. Oh wait.... forever.... because people are ignorant or disingenuous.

KP asked for a trade and told the Knicks he wasn't resigning with them.... this is why he was traded..... it's that simple. If he wanted to be in NY and was fully on board with the FO, coach and direction of the team they aren't trading him like they did.

So his Divaness and his 'oh brother' wanted the trade immediately so essentially forced the Knicks to act quickly and fortunately they had laid some groundwork to make a deal right away before the situation deteriorated even more.

The Knicks did get cap relief in the deal, they also got a young prospect and an unprotected first rounded and another protected one. So they got a variety of benefits from the deal and only signing FAs this summer doesn't define the trade they were forced to make.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Until we win, everything will be portrayed as a failure. It's just how it is. The Knicks are such an easy target for negativity that it's to be expected.

We know why they made the KP deal and most of us liked it, but it's to be expected that if we don't land FAs, the hate will be even stronger for the trade when in reality the trade in and of itself was a success.

Not to mention the Knicks were rejected after making several offers for either established players or up and comers, meaning the league isn't that high on KP right now following the injury and baggage. If the Mavs weren't maxing him out I wonder if he'd get another max offer at all?
