Re: Frank Thread 3: FIBA Frank Aftermath
It would be classic Knicks if they don't pick up his option. Even if NY doesn't think he's a good fit for our team and would rather play the other guards, there sure will be teams that would trade for him and take a chance. I'm sure of it. The more the Knicks don't place a value on Frank, the more teams will just wait for us to let him go for free.

They should pick the option up..also nobody's giving more than a second rounder for him

lol, I have to disagree with you Frank becoming a respectable shooter before Trier stops being Iso Zoe. He has been working on his Catch and Shoot game all off season. Considering he was the best %shooter of ALL our guards, HE has a better chance of evolving his game to fit than Smokes does.
Trier's problem wasn't making shots ,it was moving without the ball to be open to catch and shoot , its something he doesn't do
frank takes shots he just doesn't make enough of them, repetition and time should solve this .
trier's issue is changing the way allonzo plays to some degree...his issue is the harder one to fix...because most players with his issue don't fix it.
You can't be afraid of something that you are weak at. Trier isn't afraid. Frank? Outside of FIBA, he looks like he's afraid. ISO may not be ideal, no NADA is even worse. Worse case Trier has an NBA career as an instant offense type player off the bench. Worse case for Frank is that he'll be out of the league and playing pro ball in Europe somewhere if he keeps deferring. In today's NBA you can't be just a good defender and expect to play. Need to be able to shoot/score.

The last Knicks player on the practice court on Day 1: Ntilikina. He was shooting corner 3s with assistant coach Keith Smart. - Mike Vorkunov
Pretty consistent theme for Frank

Re: Frank Thread 3: FIBA Frank Aftermath
I'm taking down names.
We've all chosen sides already. I don't think anyone is out-working Frank. I don't think you can become a world-class defender at age 19 without having a strong basketball IQ. I don't think you can teach his length.
That we have a coach who would rather give heavy minutes to a PG who won't be here next season (again) is out of Frank's control. Frank will not be playing in Europe anytime soon. If we are willing to part ways there are plenty of teams willing to give Frank a long look.
The Knicks may have forgotten, but defense wins championships.

He's also listed at 200 lbs, which is 30 lbs above the 170 lbs he weighed before the draft 2 years ago.

I would hope that our FO would not be so myopic. Also, Mills was here for that draft so he has some investment in seeing him succeed here.
If some reports are to be believed, Mills is the reason that Frank is still here
So Pissdale and Perry are the problem.

Or if Fixdale will tear him down and squander it.
