I understand his explanation of why you bring him in but signing a guy just because he commands respect & he’s a New Yorker doesn’t mean he’s a good coach.

I will give him the benefit of the doubt tho, he got that warriors team in the playoffs & he inspired the players to the point Steph Curry was hesitant about Kerr coming.

The main problem comes down to this for me tho, I’m tired of one way coaches the same way I’m tired of one way players.

Can you coach defense AND offense? If not then go weh.

Jackson has those elevator screen plays but for the most part the offense was Curry iso show with a big stress on defense. We don’t have a Curry and honestly I’m good off isolations for a long time after Melo.

Let Mike coach the team, fire Pills in the offseason, let Allan take over as GM, slide Perry to assist GM, idk who becomes president.

The man who once got the max deal will be doling out max deals himself?

I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bring LJ, Sprewell, and Bernard on board. I mean they're at the games, so, might as well I guess.

A few people within the organization need to feel the hands of Latrell like PJ felt in 1997.

Fizdale like Bolton for Trump. "I'm out? I'm taking the rest of you f*cks down with me"

If Fizdale is about to go down, I want to see him bring down Mills and Perry with him.

I want it bad.

This exactly man. We actually hit above .500 without Mills, then go right back in the gutter when he comes back. Got to get rid of this guy. If anything he is just bad luck.

Have they not seen the schedule? Why would they wait 10 games? Meanwhile the players see all this and know they don't have to heed anything the coach says. Wasn't Randle having words with one of those assistants a few games ago? This dynamic will be interesting to watch.

I think Mills & Perry did that press conference last night to get Fizdale to resign

Sorry if this is coming across as rubbing salt in the wounds. Unfortunately the Knicks have not been a strong franchise for a long time. With an owner like James Dolan at the head, what else can be expected. Too many issues and turnovers have continue to submerge the Knicks in dire straits for nearly two decades. I know that he's the owner, but James Dolan needs to leave the franchise. A change at the head of the franchise needs to be made. From top to bottom.

To the Knicksfans: Prayers and Godspeed to y'all.

Yup, and like I said before, they were trying to skip steps.

The Nets had a coach who established an identity and a system. They built a culture. They didn't play Mudiay 35 mins a game over their own picks and them let him go at the end of the year to start all over again with a new team.

The Knicks tried to shortcut what took the Nets 3 years. Now they are sitting in the mess they created and allowed Fizdale to foster.

from the look of it, fizdale has 10 games and then he'll be fired. i didn't pay attention to mike miller who i guess will get the nod. what did his team in westchester look like ? and will he even be able to play the pieces he wants how he wants ?

I never really followed them. From what I understand, he built his system around the players.

The freedom he has with this roster will be key. I'd rather they send all these vets out of town before he takes over, but I doubt that will happen.

found something

Maybe the most important item when finding a new Knicks coach, the Dubs posted elite defensive numbers across the board this season: Miller’s team finished third overall in opponent FG% at 44.4 and second in points allowed per game at 101.5. Defense was a goal all year for Westchester, despite the team’s revolving door of talent throughout the season.

“I think one of the things that happened is, when Trey Burke signed and was gone, we knew that was a big piece of offense that was gone,” Miller said. “We sat down with our group and said, if we don’t become one of the top defensive teams — we had set out to be one of the top five defensive teams, that was something we talked about, we wanted to be one of the best top five teams — and we weren’t there. So we kept moving that way, and got better and better in the second half of the season. I think we defended very well.”

One slight area of concern is a problem that has plagued the big Knicks the last two years under Jeff Hornacek — the W-Knicks finished 23rd of 26 teams in 3-pointers attempted with 25.5 per game, and 21st in threes made with 9.9. One silver lining there, however, is that they shot 37.8 percent, which was good for third in the league.

That stat doesn’t overly concern me, however, considering midrange maestro Trey Burke was dropping 30 a game for over half the season in Westchester. Clearly, Miller was playing to the strengths of his players, and that’s an admirable trait.

A Fizdale firing without a Mills firing is a waste.

Fizdale AND Mils.

C'mon bluesman Jim. Put that finger on the trigger and give it a pull.

If anyone that says "Mark Jax should be hired cuz he was a Knick and knows about the city and and and understands the media" should be banned. It's not about being a New Yorker or how to deal with the media. It's ABOUT EFFING COACHINGGGGGGGG.

I don't want to hear about Patrick Ewing, Mark Jackson, Kenny Smith etc. etc.

Everyone should be fired and that's including Allan Houston. Mill's for his ugly face. Perry cuz he looks like he is sleeping half the time and Fizdale because he's a used car salesman.

I'm not ready to make a martyr of Fizdale but I also don't trust Mills and Perry with the next coach selection...I'm torn because I want everyone gone but I'm not sure if getting rid of just one (the lowest on the totem pole) is a good thing or a token gesture to bide the leftover guys I'm pissed at time.

wonder if pills are thinking that way even. they'll probably only trade for other expirings. they can't actually get anyone who will help. so what can they really do besides just get rid of guys who don't fit ? and will they even admit that to themselves ?
