My point is, Hayward would be redundant. They could play together as a 3-4 combo around a defensive 5, but the Knicks drafted Obi to play PF (he’s a center imo but that doesn’t change the perception of the FO).

We need guard play. FVV and Bogdanovic would fill both positions and bring some toughness and much-needed shooting.

I’m with you on Hayward but Fred van felton and 30 year old bogdanovich can kick rocks too

Bogdanovic is 28 and he is a volume 3 point shooter, that can handle the ball and took the starting job from Hield because he plays better defense and has better all around skills. I'm kind of curios to see if he can breakout as a scorer since he wont be competing for shots in a backcourt with Hield and Fox.

He’s not bad but he’s 28. Doesn’t have a long term role here. I rather have Malik Beasley. But he’s off the market now. Quickley is a sniper so we should just start him.

There goes that idea.

Would have been a nice FVV alternative. Cheaper. Younger.

I agree we are going to run pick and roll with Mitch. Obi is going to get out of the paint and spread the floor when we run PnR. Obi has a good stroke so If he increases his volume he could be a stretch 4 like Marcus and Markieff Morris.

Yes, Knicks shouldn't scout anyone and pick up guys who are starting to put it together.
Conversely, apparently they shouldn't sign any vets who are good either.

You thought us not getting Wiseman would be the end of it, but now because we have Obi the whispers are growing louder and it's not even me saying it anymore, we are legion.

the rest of the league aint stupid. they know what he is. alan hahn talked about how every team targeted him because he was so bad on defense. it was in the scouting report to get the switch on knox because he's food.

His defense wack but it didn’t help that we didn’t run plays for him. The kid is projected as a shooter and a pick and roll handler. Just stuck him in a corner in limited minutes don’t help him.

he's a shooter who couldn't shoot. he had a ton of open looks and couldn't hit them with any regularity.

Knox’s arc on his shot that flirts with the rafters has tricked people into believing he can actually shoot.

because he was bad his rookie year but still had value

he was bad and got zero playing time which completely tanked his value. Even if you don't like someone you have to pretend to like them and at least get something of value for him.

Not playing 30 minutes a game didn't tank his value... Him sucking every minute he played did

Not all his fault. A lot of blame goes to Mills/Perry/Fiz for not having a plan but Knox still sucked regardless

yes knox stunk...i said the minute they drafted him he wasn't a good basketball player. Everyone then got a huge chub after watching him in summer league and then realized he is garbage. But my point is he is on the team now, it behooves us to try to extract whatever value we can get for him...just burying him on the bench for a half year rental is just stupid.

All you need is knox to have a hot 10 game stretch where he hits his 3's and you can trade him...people are prisoners of the moment.

But again i'm not understanding why Hayward would prohibit Knox from succeeding? If anything having Hayward as a wing partner for 15-25 minutes with Knox would help him a lot! Knox isn't just going to come out of nowhere and be the type to score efficiently for a sustained stretch. His rookie year he had that one good stretch and a bunch of cold ones. Knox needs a good infrastructure to hide his flaws and put him in the best position to succeed. Sort of like a very poor version of Melo...Just throwing him out there for 30 minutes with other young underdeveloped guys isn't the best situation for him.

I should like Bogdanovic since he's a very versatile all around player, but having watched him a decent amount (but not extensively) I feel like I'm impressed by him like only every 4th game.
It's weird.

Tank

I like the idea of developing RJ as a 2, there's nothing about him that should prevent him from being able to defend the 2, which is also why I like the idea of signing Hayward. You put enough wings on the floor and there will always be a mismatch somewhere on the court.

Meh not sure I really see him as a 2. But still I don’t want here Hayward chucking up a lot of shots. He should go to a winning team

Why don't you see him as a two? You are what you can defend really.

Good for the tank. Which isn't as effective a strategy post rules change.
Oh well.
