Any timetable for Burks/Frank/DSJ to return? At this point... I only care about Burks because I'm tired of Frank's injuries and DSJ is a bum but...anything to push Payton/Bullock further down the bench would be welcomed. I would much rather watch Harper/Pinson/Iggy than either of them.

Burks was listed as doubtful for Clevland instead of out so he's prob going to return within the next 3 or 4 games. Frank sounds like he's still a few weeks from returning. DSJ has been back for like 3 or 4 games. He played garbage time minutes a few games ago

The most he’s scored is 17 but he’s scorching from 3 point land and has a good fg% with good assist and rebound numbers.

He looks really good I didn’t expect him to be playing this well in the NBA.

IQ is really good value for where he was picked but Haliburton is a much better player overall

Plus just common sense. Can't have a PG that can't shoot and nobody even guards from the perimeter in those lineups.

Haliburton is a better playmaker, defender, and more consistent OFF player (9 out of 11 games he has shot over 40% from 3). So he is a consistent weapon.

I would say IQ has got more of a scorers mentality for sure...and he looks like great value where he was picked. So we should be happy. Both 2 would be better then 1. I don't see IQ sticking at PG forever...he is a combo guy through and through...

He and IQ are different kind of players, points, guards, it seems. But I don't know Hali well.

if you want to play bullock and payton, fine ... just nothing over 20 minutes.

robinson
randle
knox

iq

obi
rivers
burks(when he's healthy)

i know thibs is just doing the usual giving vets respect before completely embarrassing them. but payton stops the flow of the offense, whenever the ball is passed to him the defense resets because they know he's not shooting it.

i like bullock but dude has no athleticism to hang anymore.

Randle has been insane from mid range so far. It’s like night and day from last season. I’m not cringing on every pull up middy anymore

Read on Twitter

It was a late-game mess for the reeling Knicks (5-8). Coach Tom Thibodeau said he wanted Robinson to foul Drummond, citing the Cleveland center’s historically poor foul shooting. But it predictably backfired: Drummond needed to miss both for the Knicks to keep the score to one possession, and he hit 13-of-19 from the line Friday.

“We talked about where we were and his career, I believe, he’s a 47% free throw shooter,” Thibodeau said. “So at that point you’re just trying to create something that you think will give you an advantage. So it didn’t work out.”

this is the 2nd late game baffling decision by thibs in a row. you had more than 24 seconds left and you foul in a 1 possession game. and the game before you forced two timeouts on failures to inbound and then when the team had no timeouts left you double the inbounder leaving a man open. make it make sense.

your being too nice

if they were actually "true" vets I would get it. But these guys are mercenaries...they have mostly played on bad teams.

Like Taj Gibson is a vet. He is a winner that has played a role on a good team. Bullock a fine dude and what happened to him last year sucked...I'm not going to really spend much more time talking about Elf just because he is such a bum it isn't worth it.

But Rondo is a vet...he is someone that would hold value...Payton and Bullock aren't vets..they are fringe NBA players for there entire careers.

You guys are too young to remember (lol) and it's a different situation because they're VERY different players by a lot. But early on, Oakley used to get groans when he shot his jumper. Then he worked on it and it became automatic. He had a little turnaround J too. Then it was a real weapon.

So in that sense, I hope Randle is following suit and his J can become automatic-ish. That obv changes his value a lot.

Tommy Dee's stat story is pretty telling. But the Elf one is 6x the number of minutes.

i am being too nice, but you have to know that's it's easy for us to say these things and it's another for a coach to do it.

coaches/managers in all sports have given mediocre vets a lengthy leash since the birth of sports, you gotta let the process play itself out -- last night payton was BENCHED.

As someone that isn't a huge fan of randles game. Randle isn't pullling the team down and anyone suggesting he is, probably just is stuck in there ways from last year.

The only difference that I see is I want to sell high on him because I think this team is nowhere near competing on a high level and if you can get longer term assets im a firm believer you do it.

I want to get rid of Payton as well but for all different reasons...I would cut him today if I was in charge.

Why do we keep demonizing his age like damn the kid is 22. Who cares how old he is. You reach your prime at 28 and plenty of 4 year college kids have played well in the NBA. What’s the obsession with mentioning it?
