it's remarkable that people think dame, randle, and even kawhi along with 10 players as bad as theo pinson and as good as jared dudley filling out the bench is worth it.
you know thats not how it works. If you had Kawhi/Dame/Randle you would easily get ring chasing vets. It happens all the time. It wont be theo pinson level players and you know it.
now if you telling me to sell the farm for Dame without another player coming (and its just Randle and Dame). Then I 100% agree.
If you get Kawhi though its a no brainer. You talking about adding two top 10 players in the entire NBA.

they are not better than the nets
or the sixers or the bucks, and if the hawks find a way to re-sign john collins they're probably not even better than them sinnce the hawks have depth.

I agree they wouldn’t be better than the Nets but they’d be in the same tier and a KD or Kyrie injury away from being the best team in the nba. Kawhi Lillard and Randle (who I know you think is worthless but like it or not was an all-star and would be a great 3rd option) would easily be better than the Bucks or Sixers. Kawhi just had a 45 point playoff game last night and lillard had a double nickel a couple games ago. What has Philly or Milwaukee ever won? Kawhi is a multi time champion who has personally dispatched Giannis as well as Embiid/Simmons/Butler. You think they can’t be a contender?

bNo also hates lillard for some reason as well. So he hates 2 of what would be our big 3. Not sure how he feels about Kawhi. But to say we wouldn't be on the Sixers/Bucks/Hawks level is ridiculous.

agreed he's older then I would like but its not often a player of his caliber make it to the market (if he truly is on the market). And like I said before its has to be a joint deal. Dame and Randle by themselves don't do enough to move the needle. If Kawhi is in the picture that does change a lot.
Because yes the window would be about 3 years. But you can argue that team would be one of the 5 best teams in the entire NBA. If you believe dame is a stud. Its hard not to believe Kawhi is a top 5 player in the league right now. Randle as much as he sh*t the bed in the playoffs...will be 2nd or 3rd team all NBA this year when the awards come out.
And then whatever else you have left over that you haven't traded (mitch and maybe one other young player) + vets to bring back maybe like Rose and Melo as vets off the bench leading that unit.

I’m not even high on Lillard myself and recognize his 1st round failures but when has he played with someone like Kawhi? In my opinion he’d be the 2nd banana. You got lillard as a 2nd banana that’s dangerous

You're right, if he is available and Kawhi could join him, Leon Rose has to at least try to make it happen here.
That said, I'm not in love with it because the window to win it all would be tiny... and they'd really require a lot of luck, like someone on Brooklyn not being able to play in the playoffs... or a team with a younger core not improving ahead of expectations.

The whole discussion is pointless anyway because it’s not happening
Better chance of Butler+Kawhi imo and that’s probably not happening either

What are we supposed to do, just tank until super teams don’t exist anymore because it’s not worth even trying? The Raptors got more than 2 weeks of basketball when they traded for Kawhi despite the existence of Durant’s super team. Sometimes shittu happens

Just build slow and steady. These pipe dreams aren't healthy.
Kawhi Loadmanagementard isn't leaving SoCal to play for Thibadeau. Dame is obviously staying in Portland.

I get wanting Lillard but I would want to keep Rj and Obi. The reason is because Mitch and the cap issue he represents being a 2nd round pick and the implications of signing him
they have mitch for another year for the minimum and his cap hold is nothing. he's the easiest and cheapest to keep.
but not long term. That is the issue he was a 2nd round pick while we have cap space is Mitch worth 20 million a yr?
