Randle isnt my best player though. He came off my bench. So not sure why you said that. Luka and Zion may not work long term because of the lack of defense.

luka and zion is nice. depends what you build around. i was just offered to take pacers, but was told they're LOADED.

not saying your team is bad, or what you're doing is bad. but to see three 5-star guys down to 2 was a surprise for me. as long as you get a couple of top 3 picks for the next few years, that might be a good decision.

ANNOUNCEMENT

The draft is now less than 24 hours from beginning as the Rockets go on the clock at 6AM tomorrow morning. Teams have two hours to make all first round picks and one hour to make all second round picks. The draft order and times can be found in the spoiler below. Please double check that all draft slots have been updated correctly and also make sure that you know what times you will be on the clock. Once the draft begins, there can no longer be any discussion of players until they are picked. No name dropping during the draft.

RULE:

In respect to the draft- Once the draft begins no GM can name drop any player who has not been picked in the draft to that point. All discussion can only be about players who have already been selected. This has not been an issue as far as I can recall but just stating what should be the obvious.

All draft picks should be PM'd to me during your draft slot. If you can not make your selection during your draft slot you can PM me a list of your preference of players in order and I will make the selection of the highest player remaining on your list. If a team does not send in their pick before their time expires then they will be skipped and the next team up can make a selection. If a team is skipped for three consecutive picks, then I will take the highest player remaining on the nbadraft.net board for them. At some point over the next five days I may not be able to post the pick immediately. If the team before you has their time run out don't assume that they didn't make a pick that I just may not have been able to get to post. If you have not heard from me telling you that you are up, please send in your pick with a secondary choice in case the team ahead of you selected your player and it just hasn't been announced yet.

Once the draft begins, any trades that have been made since the freeze went into effect can also be submitted and announced. Please write in your PM subject line what your PM is, trade, draft pick, free agent offer, transaction, question, etc.

If anyone has any questions as to how the draft works, please let me know.

I did not see Mitchell ( 4 stars ) and KAT ( 5 stars ) as viable long term. They will probably get 70 - 80 percent of a teams cap combined at the reset.

I thought about standing pat. But this team was not good enough last year to win it all. I think keeping that 500 dollar spot open for 2022 while also adding depth and picks was the way to go. KP is a 4 star and the the step down from KAT was not that big.

i was offered indiana, but everyone was saying they're stacked (i didn't want to look at rosters), so i didn't want to take them. i took bucks as a challenge.

i would never want KAT in real life, but he's solid in the SIM, so i really wanted him with butler (why not reunite this duo?).

When I saw Luka and Zion on the same team my first thought was how in the world did this happen? The GM before me was a killer getting both of them lined up on their rookie deals.They will be a struggle to cover for defensively but I can think of about 1000 worse team situations to be in. My 2nd choice was the Nets with Dame, Embiid, etc....

KAT and Butler would be a heck of a combination in the SIM. KAT has a great defensive rating to pair up with Butler's perimeter defense. Paying them might be a problem though. Butler @ 420 and KAT @ 500.

Picking at 8, 9, 14, and 31. I am willing to move back with any of these picks or up with any of these picks. I have young guys that are available for trade as well to complete a deal. If you see anything that makes sense and you think one of those spots helps secure a guy you’re targeting send offers my way!

FWIW, James Harden has been on the BAF All-Defensive team numerous times.

Your predecessor pulled off some crazy good deals to get to Luka and Mitchell. Zion... the ping pong balls went his way. I think he moved up from 10.

My quote messed up. I meant to say Harden has made BAF All-Defensive team numerous times. So take IRL defensive reputations with a grain of salt. If Luka/Zion can get a decent amount of steals/blocks, they’ll be fine.

Yup KAT is a bad defender but gets enough steals and blocks to be given a decent DEF rating.

Whiteside basically hunts blocks and is a horrible defender outside of that but the SIM loves him.

Always will be some anomalies because there is not a really good defensive metric and the SIM is mostly stat driven.

yes all times in our game are eastern time zone. This was created originally for Knicks fans so we were all on the east coast of at least a vast majority of us.
