Russell’s contract is way shorter, his stats may even be better - even as a mere third wheel. Compare their current stats including even Russ’s greatest knocks: turnovers, field goal and three point percentage. Westbrook is better, his contract is more suitable and there really is no drawback at all in trading Randle, Kemba and Fournier for him today. Look up their stats before telling me otherwise. I’m serious.

And Russ may not even be done. Who knows what he can do between RJ, Cam, Obi and Mitch. I want a rebuild, but that team may even be more successful than the current trash.

The only reason I could see to trade for Westbrook is to get rid of longer term deals, free up cap space for 2023

That arrogance from a Knicks fan is surprising. They’re actually rebuilding. Like, really rebuilding. No vets, all in. Spurs are 20-34, Knicks…. 24-31. Everything you need to know is right there: they tank properly, they develop talent, they produce an all star point guard even despite major injury (plus all the others - Keldon Johnson, Vassell etc.), their record is basically just as bad as the Knicks’, yet they will most likely draft ahead of them and a better prospect. What’s more, they don’t pay stupid money for useless vets over the next four years. They only have short contracts on the books. As for Murray: Do you think he leaves anything to be desired? We could only wish for such a player and we most definitely cannot trade for him.
