Yeesh. So he’ll be missing the rest of this season and most of next most likely.

I wonder what the premium is on the insurance policy the Rangers took out on deGrom?

He’ll be fine. X-rays negative. Just day-to-day with a contusion.

Oh good. I didn't even see the play.

I had just turned on the TV when Gary and Keith mentioned that he had to be taken out but didn't say what had happened. Anyhow, at least we have that?

How much longer are we going to continue with Vogelbach et al. Our pitching staff is old. Our bullpen kinda sucks.

This is no way to develop a team that will be competitive for a years to come. This is more like patching over holes.

Mets minor league pitching prospect (no. 11 overall in the Mets' minor league system) Mike Vasil reminds me a little of Ron Darling on the mound.

Buck pinch hit Guillorme for Vientos with us one run down. WTF? I don't really blame him directly for this mess because I thinks it's more of a roster problem, but that said, he's not having a good year managing. Lots of head scratchers like that and Vogelsbach. The bullpen and starting pitching issues, which are the big ones, aren't his fault.

Scherzer is done. Just cut him and bring up some decent pitching prospect other than David Peterson or Jose Butto. Scherzer is just lobbing meatballs up there on a silver platter.

We had limited options this past off season in terms of replacing deGrom who didn't even pitch this season. What's been upsetting to me is that McNeil, Lindor, Marte, Alonso, and Cahna haven't hit like they can. Marte looks washed. McNeil has been an average player at best this season. Lindor and Alonso have barely kept their batting averages over the Mendoza Line. Canha looks like more like a 4th outfielder. If we were really competing earlier this season, she should not have traded Eduardo Escobar. He was a popular veteran on the team. While I'm sure he'll be better at the plate, Baty been below average this season.

This video discusses a Fangraphs report on the two prospects the Mets received in return for Robertson (who the Mets could resign in the off season if we can find a road to retooling the team).

The fire sale has begun. The Astros are interested in bringing Verlander back. Pham and Canha are up next. The Mets are in full damage control and looking to rebuild the farm system.

Question: Will they use the minor league talent to make other deals this off season in order to compete for a wild card spot next season?

My favorite Met games to watch were with Big Sexy. They went by so fast haha. Loved watching him pitch.

The Mets get Ronald Acuna's younger brother as part of the return in the Scherzer trade. The Rangers have one of the top 5 minor league systems in MLB. He's a SS/2B.
