Re: RJ Barrett Appreciation Thread
RJ's usage % is 23 on the Raptors....that was his usage rate during his best season as a Knick.
His usage was at 27 on the Knicks this season.
Yet he's scoring more points on much better efficiency on the Raps
Knicks were using him wrong. Raptors will maximize his strengths.
Their team will be fine, they are rebuilding right now.

Real fun watching him alongside Scottie and IQ.
I'd say the Raps rebuild is off to a pretty good start but of course there will be growing pains.
What’s the team’s record? Are these numbers leading to winning?
12-20 before the trade. 4-7 since. They also traded Siakam so, the record is gonna be different but so far it's not gotten much worse. Pretty much still on the same pace. The exact same pace before they traded Siakam. I expect it to fall off though seeing it's a rebuild.
4-8

3PT rate down. FT rate up. AST rate up. These are all things we know he should have been doing here, he didn't.
But he's doing it now and these obvious changes have had huge impacts on his output. Now they need to get Barnes and IQ right.

his game was similar to randle, and randle had the more polished game
now he has space to operate, he was never gonna flourish here, but it’s funny how you can tell the people that want him to fail.

Because they desperately want to be right about what they thought about his potential and development. He was never truly allowed the opportunity to be the focal point of a rebuild the moment Julius was signed.

Their system is conducive to getting assists. It's why that team is among tops in the league in that area.
He gets FT's because his drives are more unpredictable now, so he's catching defenders out of position.

Some of those people are glad handing him now that he's gone. Good for him and wish him well. Waiting to pounce if he goes into another slump!

How's he's not anywhere in the top 15 is astonishing and really shows how much the Knicks are disliked.
Their starting lineup would be Brunson, IQ, RJ, Barnes which is basically the Knicks before the OG trade. And we were definitely not world beaters with that poor defense and rebounding.
IDK if you're being serious, because Barnes is an All-NBA first DPOY defender in comparison to Randle.
And Quickley is a much better defender than Donte.
If thats the case then Thibs took a worse roster to the 4th seed in 2020. Barnes all-nba better than Randle, RJ being used much better now, IQ better than Bullock and Elfrid with solid vets like Brown and Schroder. A much better offense than the Knicks. Yet they are 4-8 since the trade

Will take time. Your team has overhauled their entire starting lineup.
They need time to gel, and also add pieces. Those young guys will also grow and develop under the Raps' program. RJ looks great.
You guys also have assets to make a move.
Raps will be good .

Re: RJ Barrett Appreciation Thread
RJ was used fine. He didn’t have space with Brunson and Randle, and we also have Centers whereas the Raps are playing a guard heavy lineup and getting destroyed on the boards as a result. End result is more room for RJ to operate on a tanking team.

underrated point. the raptors at this moment are playing without any real centers since the poeltl injury and that’s opened up space a ton for rj to operate in the paint… only issue is that lack of a center is hurting their team overall as they get thoroughly out rebounded in most of their games
