KAT has already mastered his "not thrilled to be here" vibe so already a great start

I don't think he's the type to get overly upset or excited about anything. At least not showing it. He was actually on the Shannon Sharpe show and they were talking about it and he seemed cool with it. I wouldn't read too much into body language. The barometer is how he actually plays at the end of the day. NYC isn't Minny. If he doesn't play hard it can get ugly real quick.

I find it hard to believe that this front office didn't have some indication that KAT would give his best effort if traded.

excellent point too...My mother is still alive and I cant imagine what it would feel like not to have her at 28.
Knick family just stop for 30 minutes and think to yourself Kat is 28. There is so more more room for him to grow.
This is a 2nd chapter for him.

KAT is KAT. Don't expect the impossible. Don't expect him to be something he is not. Winning will allow us all to dismiss and ignore the shortcomings but whenever that first losing streak or slump hits, I'm curious to see how he handles it and even how fans handle it too.

He has a lot of work to do. I know people are happy to get rid of Randle, but KAT has his lion share of problems as well. He has to change the narrative about him. There's a reason why there was very few teams interested in trading for KAT.

Mental Midget in the Playoffs, but waaaaaay more expensive than Randle.

It's a massive gamble we taking here. I see the upside in KAT cause he more of a natural scorer than Randle and hypothetically he's a better fit next to Brunson since he can shoot the 3. But his playoff struggles are.. not good. I posted his net ratings from the playoffs and dude was a huge negative every post season besides the year he played the 4. I just hope he can change the narrative about him, if not it's gonna be a very long 4 years.

WWW manipulated Dolan into greenlighting the trade over objections of Thibs and Aller, sources say.

I'd take this with a grain of salt. First, SI has recently been said to be publishing AI written articles, so their credibility isn't what it used to be. Second, many folks have thought Ju was injured by Miami due to a decision to play him "rough." (I don't think they actually planned to injure him, but that was the outcome.) If I thought that a team caused my serious injury, I'd be hesitant to play for them.

3toheadmelo wrote:I too don't think KAT seemed overly thrilled. It's not exactly easy leaving the place you were drafted to and finally making it to the WCF. But I know being a Knick means a lot to him, seeing his comments about how his mom felt about MSG. So I think there's alot of emotions behind the cameras.

Julius and his wife had no difficulty expressing how wanted and good they feel in Minnesota. It could just be personal styles.

I had a talk with a very smart friend from Minnesota about the trade. He was worried if Julius would be good for them. I told them I thought he'd be good for them, so the question would arise at the end of the season if they could afford to keep him on an extension, or if they'd have to trade him.

We both agreed KAT would be good for the Knicks, and he told me he thinks he will be the best center we've had since Ewing.

He pronounced Patrick's name as "EE-wing," not "You-ing." OK, what does he know. He's from Minnesota LOL.

That could be very possible!

At least someone else saw that he looked more down than enthusiastic.

We're all doing little more than reading tea leaves here. Of course, we all care that he's all in. Fortunately, we're going to find out fairly soon.
