Re: PG: KNICKS Take Game 1
If Shamet and McBride underperform we have three enforcers on th3 bench ready to contribute... Tucker, Achiuwa and Wright
Plus Kolek if Tom decides to play more two PG lineups along with Towns at 4

Damn I thought Tom was bad. Go check out the Nuggets boxscore from yesterday. Their coach basically played 7 in an OT game.

Not really super uncommon for teams to play shorter rotations in the playoffs. We just do it for large portions of the regular season too

Deuce needs to be on the hot seat a bit more as the 1st guard off the bench (and in most cases, the 1st guy off the bench).
I think Shamet was fine yesterday. Pistons gave him attention.

Re: PG: KNICKS Take Game 1
That is who Brunson is and people celebrate that then people complain that Thibs is not forcing him to not be him and move the ball and run plays for KAT, Mikal and OG.robillionaire wrote:thebuzzardman wrote:Ah yes, the Brunson is selfish, can't run point agenda is coming up again.
Well he’s an attacking and scoring PG. That’s what he’s great at. If you have Allen Iverson on your team you don’t tell him to go out there and pretend like he’s a pass first PG you tell him to go score points and pass when it’s available
This fanbase is infatuated with a player like Kolek who will get 8 assists and 0 points because I guess that’s more savvy or whatever than Brunson scoring 34 points. And I say this as someone whose favorite players were Jason Kidd and Rondo. But when you have a great player who can score like Brunson the strategy is to take advantage of that and lean in your strengths, not try to fit a square peg in a round hole and tell him to stop shooting and try to be something he’s not
Bur never mind Buzz. He's deep in a tired ol schtick.

I was pleased with the 9 man rotation and the minutes. Would like to see Mitch get about 4 more mins a night
Wright should get some PT imo

Re: PG: KNICKS Take Game 1
If there is one thing that still frustrates me is that Hart-KAT-Mikal played a collective 96min and took a whopping 6 threes combined. It’s hard to see how much creativity we are leaving on the table. Every time I watch Boston they are obsessed with finding KP as the trailer + setting multiple screens to free him up. Jaylen Brown shoots 32% from 3 but I cannot imagine their offense without him taking the 6-7 threes that he willingly puts up.
Kawhi Anunoby seems to have really found his place in the offense starting in the back half of his sophomore season as a Knick. On the contrary, it still feels like Mikal is doing some soul searching and he just has so many games where he feels invisible offensively. I fully understand his 18PPG is more within the flow of the offense and he’s truly a complimentary scorer. But there are times we need him to have the stones to either make a play happen or shoot with unbridled confidence. Between the heavy dose of Brunson ISO that Thibs relies on, Hart doing cardio for 3/4 of the game and Mikal playing hot potato with the basketball leaves much to be desired. When that happens you end up in a physical dogfight with Detroit and I don’t feel that’s the style we should be playing vs them.

It isn't about trust. People want to see the others shine and that means JB has to get off the ball more. You can't have JB dribbling slow, scoring himself and distributing the ball so 4 people score 20. It isn't possible. And he prefers tp call his own number even when others are hot. It is what it is. Kobe and MJ shot too much, too. So did AI.robillionaire wrote:GONYK wrote:The criticism is even funnier when you account for him being 8th in the league in assists while being basically the 3rd most efficient ISO player in the leaguerobillionaire wrote:

I get he had a bad first half but at this stage of the season you have to trust your stars and let them shoot their way out of a slump, that’s the right call imo
What more does Brunson need to do to earn our trust
