2 guys that avg a COMBINED 27 will have one of them drop 30?.....more likely KAT goes off for 30 While Brunson scores 35

i don't disagree about the hart stuff. if that's your complaint, i understand it.
we always started strong in the past. we were a 1st quarter team. we would come out with intensity. but maybe we don't have enough intense players anymore to do that. they wait until the 4th quarter now when they have to play harder to come back in the game.
I feel its more that we still don't have a gameplan for a team putting a smaller forward on KAT....its been the case all year.
Our offense was humming early in the season when teams would guard KAT with there center because that is such a mismatch...the minute teams started putting there center on Hart and a win on KAT...the offense has looked so disjointed...you would think after all this time we would have actions to counter that move.
Because there is no way Tobias Harris should be able to check KAT.
The Pistons were one of the few teams that played their center on KAT all year too, but when the playoffs started, they switched it up.
The counter to teams playing their C on us is just to post up more, that has been the move all season, there's no screens by Hart on Harris forcing the switch so that we can try and get Brunson/KAT in an action where Duren is involved. As the defense you want the opponents to try and post up from the low block when the weakside helper is the Center, it's literally the main reason the opponents do it in the first place. It's how the Wolves slowed down the Nuggets offense last season, it's how the Celtics have made Embiid's life miserable in their matchups.
its crazy to me that everyone can put Brunson in a screen for us but we can't find a way to expose another teams weakness.
Hart should be down screener for KAT for either a post up...or Hart could pre screen Harris before KAT comes and sets a screen for Brunson...that might force Duren to pre switch onto KAT and then we get what we want Brunson/KAT P&R with Duren a center involved in the action.
But that just is way too creative for Thibs.

That man chuckaway had a bunch of open shots in the last game. We got lucky he missed. But mikal missed all his open shots in the last 5 mins so I guess they the same player.

We need a coach that will actually look to get Tobias Harris off of KAT!!!!! Most coaches are seeking that matchup but no we need to strategize against it lmao

KAT has struggled with smaller players his whole career. Blaming Thibs for that is hilarious

And imagine being an all star big struggling against Tobias Harris of all players. Maybe that’s why Tobias was calling us soft, he was talking about KAT lmao

Re: GT: New York Knicks @ Detroit Pistons (GAME 3: Thu, 7PM)
It's not about KAT struggling against Tobias, it's moreso the offensive scheme and plays just don't make sense. We have KAT yet Josh Hart is the one running pick and rolls with Brunson instead..
They showed already they can't guard KAT, the problem is Thibs doesn't run anything through KAT at all, and we don't utilize him enough either. Look at that Brunson pass stat the other day, he only passed to KAT 11 times everyone else was 20+ that should not be happening man, he should be the 1b option offensively but they treat him like the 4th, makes zero sense at all.

Harris is just the speed bump to give the weakside big time to come over and impact the shot or take away the middle.
Who is Duren guarding?

KAT made a strong move on Harris, Reed came over to alter the shot because he wasn't guarding anyone.

4 Pistons with their feet in the paint.
This is why when people say KAT stopped Jokic, I don't really agree, because it was Gobert leaving Gordon that was what stopped Jokic from going middle. The whole point of getting Harris off KAT and Duren on him would be so that BRUNSON can attack Duren more often and we could see more of a two man game, because when Hart sets a screen, this happens.

We can't attack Duren if he's on Hart, and Duren on Hart takes away post ups because KAT can't go middle if the weakside big is 36 feet off Hart.

He probably was talking about him and Mikal. Mikal is definitely soft and KAT played soft last game. Need him to be aggressive tonight and do work or this Tobias Harris matchup will be talked about for a long time

Re: GT: New York Knicks @ Detroit Pistons (GAME 3: Thu, 7PM)
Based on the play this year I can understand why some would consider it to be a "soft" team but why are we acting like last year's team didn't have its own issues?
I am a huge iHart and DDV fan. I wanted to build the team around the Nova guys, OG and iHart but I remember Embiid bullying iHart. I remember players blowing by DDV. I remember Emiid yanking Mitch out of the air by his foot with no repercussions other than a 6'3 DDV saying a few words. I remember the Pacers getting whatever they wanted on the court.
There were like 10 different versions of last years' team. I can't even pinpoint an identity for that team other than they continued to compete through the injuries and they rebounded well in the postseason against 2 teams that did not rebound well last year. We had an ugly offense and the 2nd worst defense last postseason.
Biggest difference I can see is this team has much higher expectations. Last years' team everyone knew Brunson was getting most of the shots and everyone else needed to do the other things. That strategy wasn't likely to go far but everyone knew their roles.
Also the Pistons are one of the best rebounding teams in the league. A young athletic physical team like them would have given the Knicks issues last year as well.

I remember people saying Hartenstein was a liability in the playoffs. You couldn't put him on Turner either.
And Donte was inconsistent. He was benched in Game 1 last year, and against the Pacers he was on and off.
They just needed more reps. Same thing with the players this year. Next year we will make another trade and the dudes that were hating on KAT and Mikal will start crying about how we need their toughness or some **** lol

They are relying on 1 on 1 coverage to stop Brunson and sending doubles on KAT. Plus we did exploit Brunson attacking Duren plenty of times and it’s how Brunson has been able to score frequently in the lane. But Brunson scoring hasn’t been the issue since first half of game one. We haven’t solved the main issue of the others scoring and there is no rotation or strategic answer to it. Guys that we need to score are either bricking open shots or getting locked up.
